Default First Post and 2013 CPO Questions

Great forum. Been following it since I purchased my first Porsche back in late June, an '05 997. Car had 29k on it and now has about 41k... as you can see, I've enjoyed it immensely. 105 mile round trip for work.

Looking to upgrade/update already and specifically a Dark Blue Metallic CPO 2013 with MT, 20" platinum Carrera S wheels, heated seats and wheel, multifunction steering wheel, glass sunroof, Premium Package, and all the stuff I want on the car. Car does not have Sport Chrono which is something on my current car that is nothing more than an ugly silver dial on the dash. I've read a bit about the rev matching and dynamic engine mounts but was curious about the real world need for those?

Car has 15,500 miles and about 74k price tag. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Another thing I'd do is look on cars.com and search same year/miles/option packages to compare used prices.

Seems priced very well from the searching I've done. For the car, I think it's very fair. Main question is with the Sport Chrono, or lack thereof. It isn't a deal breaker for me, just wanted some thoughts on the usefulness of it with a MT.

I don't dare go into my tire questions, as this car has new P Zeros on it and I'd like to put some all seasons on thing.... Not sure I want to go down that road on this forum.... Living in the Seattle area and having a choice of winter or summer tire isn't a great option for yearly driving these parts. Never really cold or snowy enough for winter tires and only a few months a year when rain isn't in the forecast. Enter the Toyo Proxes 4 Plus. Only tire I've found that fits this car although not N rated. Flame away.

Would you get a PPI on this car? Buying from Porsche dealer and it is a CPO car. I will be picking it up in person.

Yes, I would have an independent (3rd party) PPI completed on the car.

Are you sure you want to get the base model? Given how quickly you're trading up from your current 997, I suspect you've gotten the bug.

My advice is to ditch this one and look for an S model.

I listed the specs and that's about all I need. S model is out of my price range, unless it's a 997.2 S.

Been a Porsche enthusiast since 14 yo (31 years ago) when I spent a couple months in Germany on a soccer exchange. One of the parents had a red turbo that I got to ride around in. Also, my brother in law has a 993 that I've put 10k plus miles on over the past few years. Always been a fan.

Love the Pcars, just wish I didn't have the bug to upgrade.

Curious about why you would get a PPI if the dealer is willing to provide/purchase the two year warranty on the car after what looks to be a pretty rigorous inspection process. I'm about to purchase my second Porsche CPO. Our Boxster had no (major) issues other than a few rattles that were fixed under warranty.

There was a case an year or so ago with Beverly Hills Porsche that sold a clunker disguised as CPO to a forum member, you should run a search. It was an epic thread.

Will be driving her home sometime next week.... weather permitting.

I have a $600 credit with the dealership. Anything worth having them do or upgrade rather than just writing me a check?
