Default Taiwanese's GTS built

I have been dreaming of owing one for years. Almost pull the trigger on an used 996 in 2005 and a CPO 997S in 2010.

Finally I put in my order of a GTS! This will be my VERY first 911 (currently driving a Cayenne V6). I like to post my built here to get some insight and suggestions from all you multi 911 owners.

Here it goes...
http://www.porsche-code.com/PFMX6X23
2015 GTS $121,795
April 2015 delivery
QQ white
7 speed, no sun roof.
AJ Standard interior leather in black
030 PASM Sport Suspension
276 Auto Dimming Mirrors (necessary?)
342 Seat heating front
581 Luggage Net
583 Smoking package
602 LED headlight (really like the 4 dots DRL)
638 Park assist with camera
714 Deletion of Alcantara
748 Power folding mirrors
840 SportDesign steering wheel
XHH Gear shift lever in carbon fiber
XHM Center console trim in carbon fiber
EGB Carbon interior (without leather)
XYB Fuel cap aluminum (suggested by dealer)
ZAB Porsche crest

As you can tell, it's a very light optioned GTS. I am trying to keep it under budget.

Questions:
Multi Function steering wheel better?
Maybe upgrade to LED headlight in black (this option just came out) but is it worth it? $745 more compare to LED headlight.
Porsche crest on headrests?
Door seal guard in stainless steel?
Too bad I can't get carbon fiber on the door without add full leather.
Sport Design Package (Duck tail)?

you might look at selecting the "GTS comms pkg" which includes CF trim and dev stitching vs selecting it individually

its a wash in an MT car, but the SD wheel is a *must have* IMO in a PDK car.

In general I think the SD wheel is more stylish than the MF its a matter of taste

I think its worth it on the GTS

I'd go CF ... I had it in my 7.1 GT3 ... looks great

I'd say yes for an MT coupe ... esp if you plan to track the car at all.

BTW what seats did you select?

Ask your dealer, exclusive option code XEY I believe.

But if they are *not* on the UK configurator they are probably not (yet) available.

you could always order the PDLS LED option and buy the black ones afterwards ... its plug and play

in fact call the OPC in Solihull, as I understand that they are an 'exclusive' dealer for Porsche so they may be able to confirm if your usual dealer cannot

Larry,

I went with the basic 4-way seat. Don't plan to track the car.
When you say GTS comms pkg, do you mean GTS interior pkg? In order to select that, I will need to select black leather inter incl alcantara GTS pkg in red or silver $3850. That is like $7030 more (4120+3850-610-330)...I can't or I don't want to.

As you can tell, I don't want to spend too much money. In fact, it's already out of my comfort zone. But at the same time, I don't want to miss anything obvious.
I am sure I will have a different perspective after I have had many 911s like many of you.

From my experience, make a list of what you truly want. It is easier and cheaper to order things upfront, rather than adding them later and not all options can be added retrospectively. You are buying your dream car and that opportunity is not a daily event, so make sure there is no disappointment left on the table.

Auto dim mirrors are great...no more squinting when cars come up behind you...

+1, especially in a low-slung car like this.

The GTS Interior Package is expensive, but it sure looks good. I would get it if you can.

LOL, from the thread title I thought this was going to be a cheap knockoff of a GTS.
