So that rear deck grill is flat black plastic and the end are gloss black? Same as the 50th, but gloss black instead of the faux chrome?

Hard to tell with the glare.

Impressions of the car (PDK coupe carmine red - it was a carmine red kind of day)

While "red" is not my thing, I *really* liked the GTS comms pkg with the dev stitching inside, the black (ok gray) interior with the red stitching was great. I wish they had a car with the silver variant
I think that would be EVEN COOLER ... combined with the right exterior.

The CF trim I though "worked" ... I wish again they had a car w/o the GTS comms pkg so that I could see the anodized alu trim option ... oh well someone will have to order one and post pics...

I'm an alacantara fan, so I liked the interior with alacantara/leather, the SD wheel is nice as is the shifter.

The seats are perfect, very comfortable for me at 6' and 240lbs ... I was surprised to find that the steering wheel adjustment was powered!

Car definitely needs clear side markers but we knew that already.

I *like* the engine cover, the 'slats' are a gray color with the horizontal edges trimmed/painted gloss black.

headlight and DLR trim looks cool, in combo with red its not "ideal" but with other color it will really be distinctive, as would LED PDLS!

Overall the stance of the car is aggressive, I'm still trying to come to terms with the fully painted front spoiler lip (because I am used to the GT3 black one) I really think the car would benefit from painted side skirts just to provide some continuity from the front splitter.

As for the rear fascia, the black looks good, and the anodized exhaust tips are *sexy* I can see suncoast selling a bunch of those to S drivers when they become available.

I had never seen the SD mirrors in real life before, and I had assumed that like the mirrors on the 7 GT3 they would manually fold, they dont ... is that an issue.

The matte black CLs are stunning, but I have a thing for matte black wheels (c.f my avatar) I actually think that the car would ROCK silver or platinum painted wheels (either the Carerra S or aftermarket) especially on darker colors (I was not able to find the offset info on the rims unfortunately)

I wasn't able to extract much if any useful information from the staff on hand:

Q: can you tell me about the suspension changes?

A: errrr

Q: can you say anything about the redesign of the 7MT?

A: ummm

Q: does the rear wing element deploy in the same fashion as SPASM equipped cars?

A: ... ahh ...

you get the idea ... so not much was gleaned from that!

I gazed longingly at the Cabriolet, thinking of my Sapphire Blue one, some 6 months in the distance

My net-net is that this is a really nice product, they will sell like hotcakes, if you are in the market for an S I dont see why you would not get a GTS instead...

The exhaust tips are an easy mod. I had mine powder coated.

Great pics Larry. I noticed that neither the coupe nor the cab had painted side skirts. That's too bad. It would have been nice to see one of them with and the other without painted skirts.

So you think the black rear fascia is better than painted (GT Silver)? As for wheels, silver/platinum would work with GT Silver?

Great photos, Larry! They are better than most professional photos.

I stumbled across these photos of a 991 GTS in Jet Black Metallic. The black grille on Jet Black Metallic looks not bad either:
