Default Abrupt end to my Porsche Configuration Stress Disorder (PCSD)

Many of you understand that RL is the only refuge for Porsche Configuration Stress Disorder (a/k/a PCSD). I thank all of you for helping me hide the shame of this disease from my family, friends and work associates. Thankfully, my mental disorder came to an abrupt and successful end today.

You see, today I took my "winter beater" S4 out of storage and was scheduled to "pre-trade" my C4S Cab for a GTS Cab that would hopefully arrive sometime before next spring, but that did not yet have an allocation. Early this morning, my sales guy texted me from the ER at a local hospital (bad sushi) and told me he wasn't sure he was going to make it to the dealership. So after a while of not hearing anything, I called the sales manager to coordinate things. He said that he wasn't sure of the details, but he'd figure things out and get back to me.

Ten minutes later, he called me panicked and told me that I had to get in to finalize my GTS allocation because it was going to freeze today! WTF? What allocation?? Well, I'm still not sure what happened, but the dealer thinks they got a sudden launch car allocation which they could spec for me. November build. January 16 delivery. Btw - that's a familiar date. Do some of you others have a 1/16 delivery date? Maybe a coordinated dealer launch?

All this ended my configuration dilemma and instantly cured my PCSD. It'll be so good to get off my meds.

So here it is (sorry Larry):

That date sounds about right. My present delivery date is 1/30, although my dealer says it may be a week or two sooner. Since you're on the right coast and I'm all the way on the left coast (transit through Panama Canal) it makes sense.

Enjoy!

One of my favorite threads is the one about Dark Blue and Espresso. Because, its one of those things that seems so very wrong... until you see it. Going to be one fine looking GTS. Congratulations and don't forget to post photos!

Great build! Congratulations on a wonderful car.

I was suffering from the disorder as well for a long time. The wait for the car is agonizing!

Thanks everyone - except Larry .

It really is a great feeling ending the self-imposed stress of all the configuration decisions. I was sooo happy taking the "Porsche Model Start" page off of the top of my favorites list and deleting the half-dozen saved configurations. This really is an illness!

Leather sun visors popped up for builds after Nov 1. They're the sort of thing you'd never miss, but I had them on my 997.2 and with them, you realize how much the regular visors feel like cardboard. Talk about first world problems.
