Why do you like the Smart Top? I was looking into it.

good point

I bought one already for my cab... convenience is the answer:

1-touch up/down on top/windows/deflector
2-open/close remotely

that is an option yes... you check it and you lose the alacantara wheel&shifter as well as the "GTS" logo on the seat headrest...

I have heated/ventilated seats and full leather in my Cab. Heated seats is a must here in Chicagoland. Ventilated seats are nice, but I haven't found them to be indispensable. I seldom drive with the top up in the summer, so rarely use the a/c. In fact, I have the no a/c button on by default. On longer drives, when I remember to put the seat ventilation on, it is nice. But at least for me, it is relatively insignificant.

I'm leaning towards sticking with the alacantara/leather thus retaining the wheel+shifter & 'logo' ... ticking the box for the vented seats loses the alacantara wheel+shifter and adds leather options (which you can deselect) that I dont want ...

if my *** gets hot I will just drive faster...

We're all different. In Boston, I never drive with the top up unless it's raining, but in the summer, I also almost always have the a/c on max and the ventilated seats cranked!

Definitely NOT a must have. I have have been driving convertibles for the past 30+ years and have never had them (except in a Cadillac). I am on my fourth Porsche Cab and have a black interior. The leather cools down fairly quick. I'm also in the Detroit area so, my answer may vary in warmer climate states.

Don't think ventilated seats are needed if choosing alcantara but do feel they are required for leather seating surfaces-especially black. The alcantara and upper seat logo's are part of the essence of the new GTS and will look and feel tremendous.02 T

If you will be putting around in your shorts and t-shirt, then no I don't think vent seats are needed.

As you know I'm currently in a BMW Z4(which only has heated seats), waiting for my GTS. I ended up never driving to work with my top down. When in slacks and dress shirt I would just sweat. It came to the point that the only time I would drive with my roof down was on weekends.

If I was buying a cab, that would be a must for me IMO.

Have them in my dd 750i not in the C2S. I wear suits for work and live in south Florida. I have not arrived sweaty in the 911. The 991 is so small that it cools down very quickly. In the 750 it's a must have as the cabin is huge and takes forever to cool down.
