Offer 10-13 % off and see what happens. The 15's are coming in, this car has been there awhile. I would ask the salesman if there is trunk money on it. I havent heard of any but trunk money is money the manufacture gives the dealer to help him sell cars that have been on the lot awhile. It may be up to an additional $10K off. But again I havent heard of trunk money on 14's yet

how many miles on it? (to judge how much it's been test driven)
the longer it sits the more you should be able to get taken off, esp with the 2015's rolling in. do you know what the mfg month was?

The website says 21 miles, but it has not been updated recently, so I will find out in the am. Are there any ways of knowing when the car was manufactured without looking at it? Without any negotiating the dealer offered me 8% off sticker saying that was his lowest, but we all know what that means. I would say the cars been there at least 4-5 months.

Data point....my 2014 Carrera S Cab was on the lot for 9 months. MSRP $ 114K and they had just 'punched' the warranty.

Purchase price was $ 105K, with 3 years added to the warranty via Porsche CPO (worth about $ 3,300) and two years maintenance service (worth about $ 2,200).

Remember - as the buyer you can always come up on the price, but you can't go down...lol Good luck

8% off MSRP is a G R E A T opening offer by the dealership, and says a lot about their motivation level to move metal. Good for you.

Has the warranty been punched yet?

If the car has full warranty remaining, I'd offer $104,690 and dig in, and not budge a penny more.

If the warranty has been started, I'd offer the same, and ask that the car ALSO be CPO'd at the same price.

Thanks so much guys for helping me, I greatly appreciate it. I spoke with the dealer and I asked them to come down a little bit more. They also told me the car has 54 miles on it. The warranty has also not been stamped yet.

The 2014s are being offered at anywhere from $10K off MSRP (911 C2S) to $23K off MSRP (Panamera Hybrid). A Boxster base was sold $6K (10%) off MSRP. You should be able to get a good deal on 2014 models sitting right next to 2015 models.

About 3 weeks ago my friend got 10% off new 2014 911s that was nicely optioned. I think you should get at least that off.

Don't believe a word of it! This guy is a poseur! Look, he even has a Boxster as his avatar!

I keed, I keed! I know DRC and he's an OK egg. Deals like he got are the exception, not the norm, plus he's like an uber-negotiator. If they are offering 8% off, that's good, and yes, you can likely do better. They may leave some meat on the bone to be able to allow you more on your trade. If you have no trade, that may help, or if you work on them a bit harder, you can likely get more off. 13% ? Unlikely. 10%? Maybe.

Buy what you want; don't just get it because you think it's a deal and you risk kicking yourself later because it's black and you really wanted white. Or whatever. It's a heck of a lot of money to spend - that's why I always recommend ordering exactly what you want and no more, no less.

Aquapel is a better product than RainX.

If you want to aide keeping a dark color cleaner, consider OptiCoat Pro.

if the warranty is punched, isn't that another way of knowing that truck money is in play?

Correct. I think Dr. Collie has to explain what he actually bought to give his purchase figures some meaningful context. What was the mileage? Was it a demo? Was it a 991 given to a Stop-Sale '14 991 gt3 customer to use as requested by PCNA? What was the date of his 991 purchase?

As of a month ago that I last checked, PCNA had not yet announced 'trunk money' on the left-over MY2014 991's left in inventory at US dealers. There were some leasing/finance 'incentives'. But no 'trunk money' as such (which required punching the warranty since PCNA will report that car as 'sold' in their books). The situation 'Old Guy' referred to was unique to the period of the financial meltdown of 2008/2009. Leftover MY2009 991's could be picked up in the fall of 2009 at invoice minus whatever trunk money (total then around $10K, more or less) you were savvy enough to negotiate! But PAG/PCNA has not been that generous in recent years simply because the number of leftover 991's in dealer inventory nationwide as new models arrived was not that 'alarming' (as it was during the Fall of 2009). To give you an idea of how they look at it, Cars.com had knowledge of about 1090 leftover MY2014 991's in the US dealer network when I checked in early September. Today, they list only around 625 available. So that number of cars divided by the total number of dealers in the US is not an 'alarming' number to PCNA. Not yet anyway. So, unfortunately, I don't think we will see generous trunk money (if any at all) for this year from Porsche. But you never know.

Saludos,
Eduardo

PS. For the purpose of quick calculations and offer strategies, Porsche dealer margins in the US are approx. 10% on MSRP base and 15% on MSRP options.

Dr. Collie, who BTW is a proctologist, bought a new 2014 911S cabriolet in March of this year with under 200 miles on it. It's gray with black interior, 7-speed manual and very few options. Like, nearly none. It was not a demo as far as I know.
