Correct. I think Dr. Collie has to explain what he actually bought to give his purchase figures some meaningful context. What was the mileage? Was it a demo? Was it a 991 given to a Stop-Sale '14 991 gt3 customer to use as requested by PCNA? What was the date of his 991 purchase?

Market dependent
Please keep in mind that these discounts are market-dependent. Someone may get 10% off in one city but it doesn't mean your market will tolerate that discount. I.e. Higher-demand markets will keep the prices up and the discounts low and vice-versa. There are factors beyond dealer motivation and buyer motivation.
