I don't think GTS Targa is coming.

On the other hand, Porsche is now preparing for 991.2 Targa:



Notice the centered exhaust pipes and the different bumper shape. The engine cover is just a makeshift. Will it be equipped with a turbocharged engine?

I'm with you on this one; there was no 997 GTS Targa, the current Targa is the newest variant ... I dont see it happening ... but you never know, not sure why they would not release it with the other 4 variants ...

joking aside, I think it would be a safe bet that all these mules we have seen with this new exhaust and the air vents in the back bumpers are 992 FI

If your OPC have taken a deposit I think that's a very positive sign, after all prior to the GTS announcement, OPCs in the UK were contacting customers offering them an unannounced car...

that picture is *not* a GTS ... its probably the 991.2/992 Targa mule.

If Targa GTS ever will materialize, I bet it will have a Black metallic hoop to match the black engine cover. Don't you think so? Some classic Targa models had black metal hoops with matching black engine covers, like these:

It would surprise me if it wasn't coming, to be honest. Great way to continue milking the 991 line (as they did masterfully with the 997 line).

The Targa already has the same widebody as the GTS, beyond that, it's mostly just slapping the X51 PowerKit, some minor cosmetic mods, and you're done.
