Yeah there is no question the 991.2 is going FI but that sort of gain on the Carrera S seems ridiculous... Porsche would need to completely rethink the entire 911 product line in terms of power/performance if so. If anything I could see a smallish hp bump with larger gains in torque as to be expected.

I would bet it would be 425hp 400 lb/ft 3.4L in the C2S and 375hp 350lb/ft 2.9L in the base Carrera if they are going turbos for all. This keeps the new models under the GTS HP but gives a significant boost in torque. But it is just a guess.

The way I read it, if they come out fall 15 they'll be model year 16.
A 530 hp S does sound a little hopeful though. However notice they are saying the 991 will be reduced to 2.9l while the S will stay at 3.8l. The S would then have 10 hp more than today's Turbo. So it is definitely doable. But assuming they keep the Turbo (even though they'll all be turbo's) then the Turbo would need to see a similar increase. A 600 hp Turbo? What, has Koenigsegg's 1360 hp One:1 launched a hp war?

If true that the '16 911 will be FI and introduced in November '15 (which, setting aside for the moment what HP will be, sounds like it might well be possible), what date does the collective wisdom of this group say about the last day to order a N/A GTS?
I was planning for ED pick up in April '17, (significant birthday) but now may need to move that date up....

My dealer just informed me that the 991.2 is merely a face lift. However the Cayman GTS RS with 400HP is real and will be homologated but with only a manual shift (the 911 stays ahead, as always).

How would they keep the GT3 normally aspirated *and* have it exceed a 3.8L 'S' FI with 530bhp???
So, either the 992 GT3 is also FI, or these publish #'s are BS ... or there wont be a 992 GT3.
Not too mention the Turbo and Turbo S ... they would now be 650, and 700?

there are a lot of rumors about a Cayman GT4 or R, forthcoming ... although its a big step for Porsche to introduce another racing model in addition to the 911

If one looks at the Panamera and Cayenne lines, this seems more in line with what happened with the facelifts. The base and S cars went turbo with increases in HP and tq but to HP levels similar to the NA cars. The GTS remained NA (in the case of the Panamera). Not sure about engine sizes. The TT and TTS versions this stayed much higher for HP and tq.

IF turbos appear in all engines, I would guess it follows the example set by the recent updates in the Panamera and Cayenne: minimal hp gains, but more substantial increases in torque.
