In some folks minds. All I can say is drive one if you can. The difference between the GT3 and the Carrera S is substantial in every way. I had a 2014 CS loaner for several months right up until I picked up my GT3. I loved the C2S, but I was blown away by the GT3. Given the price differentials listed, to me it's a no brainer. Somehow go get a ride before you decide.
I should also clarify, if for DD and comfort, probably go the opposite of what I say. Mine s not a DD car..

Nice build OP.
I agree that for the money the GT3 is a better value, but you want a manual tranny(which I wholeheartedly agree with),perhaps rear seats and a more comfortable ride.
Nick, once they start putting 991 GT3 engines in the Cup cars(and I believe they will at some point),your car will feel a whole lot more special, trust me on that! It will be like you're having a stock that is going down and all of a sudden that company gets bought by a huge successful company.

Just asked my dealer if its even possible to get an allocation for a GT3. So we will see what he says.
Update: Dealer told me nope no chance of getting a GT3. Oh well I guess the GTS will tie me over. I suppose I could always trade it in the future for a future GT3 or GT3RS

Looking at a GTS as well. However, in my case it will be a 2 GTS. Sat down this evening and built a bare bones GT3 and a well optioned GTS. With discounts the two were $7k apart. I had to ask myself how much I will track my next car. I'll be lucky to hit two events a year at 20-30 laps per event. I quit HSR and PCA racing a few years ago and am almost out of DE's.
Here's my build for comparison.
G1 Guards Red
AJ Black Standard Interior with Leather Seats 4 way (Can't get 14 way seats without adding a bunch of leather)
602 LED Headlights PDLS
P3H Bose
638 Park Assist F/R with Reversing Camera
XAA Aerokit Cup
ZAB Ornamental Crest
ZAC No Sunroof
030 PASM Sport Suspension
250 PDK
423 20" Carrera S Wheels 5 Lug (Last 2 cars have had CL's, I'm done)
276 Auto Dimming Mirrors
509 Fire Extinguisher
581 Luggage Net Passenger Side
583 Smoking Package
714 Deletion Alcantara
P05 Sport Seats Plus 4 Way
XFG Instrument Dials in Guards Red
XSX Seat Belts in Guards Red
840 Sport Design Steering Wheel
900 ED
$131245 Total
I could switch to Black Metallic Paint and Yellow Instruments and Belts
Looking at Euro Delivery in May.

Please, before you do this, drive a 991S and decide if it makes you happier than a 997.2 GT3 ...

I am also planning on sun visors in leather. At these prices, the entire interior should be leather anyhow, but this is another place vinyl doesn't belong on a 6 figure car IMO.

With Sapphire Blue and a black interior, I would paint the center console trim exterior color rather than leather (at least I am on my build). A little splash of the exterior on the inside.

If manual and rear seats are a must then the GTS. I also went through the same dilemma but eventually went with the GT3. I really love to have rear seats for my daughter but because the engine and technology are so far apart, I decided to go with the GT3. It's a special car. The GTS is a .1 and .2 is coming in July'15. GTS is a by-product of Porsche marketing strategy.
There is no substitute.

its a tough call between the car you want and whats available.
I personally feel that when you are dropping over $100k you should be getting
the exact car you want ... not someone else's idea of that ...
but now its a question of what is more important?
good luck with your decision!
