if this was my thing, none of the negative experiences would deter me from using vendor's services. i would understand that this isn't exactly the type of work that is going to be quick and/or easy and for the price, its not exactly high margin given the amount of work. i'm not passing judgement on any of the parties but just my objective observations. i would buy new pieces and send off to vendor as cores

Not exactly sure what your question is. I responded to an email asking about a diffuser possibly being molded, but it seemed like the inquiry was wanting a cheaper option than what other vendors offered, which I wouldn't be able to provide (molding/tooling costs are pretty high).
As far as doing one in a custom fabric, it's probably not something we're interested in doing at the moment. These types fabrics are pretty fragile, so keeping a tight/straight weave is extremely difficult, particularly on larger pieces like diffusers.

Few more pics. Now that these are all clearcoated, we'll get them wetsanded and polished and shipped. I'll take a few more pics in proper lighting before they go out the door.

I'm going to guess this has been covered before but....... Do they have to be gloss finish? Can you make matt versions, almost like the nearly finished versions above?
