Late reply, but my strategy is similar to paradocs98... On my CLS (991 parked during Chicago winter), I bought aftermarket 20" which I use in the spring/summer, and put Sottozeros on the factory wheels for winter use... So far, performance has been great in the winter months, and during the winter it still looks good on factory +1 wheels, rather than small winter spares...

Dumb question maybe but does it tear up the tires to remove them and reinstall them on wheels several times?

What aftermatket wheels did you get?

I have a C4S with Sottozeros and it did fantastic in the NE winter last year. Daily driver and got through 15 inches of snow with no issues. Passing Jeeps and trucks and getting the craziest looks.

I have had them on my previous 14' Cayman S as well and had a great experience with them.

I absolutely hate Sottozeros. Think they're mildly capable all seasons at best. Will never use them again. From now on only Michelins. Could not understand how anyone gave Sottozeros good reviews on Tirerack. They don't stop and they don't go in snow. They're only good on dry pavement. So disappointed.

Had a complete different experience. Used them for 2k miles in one of the worst winters the NE has had; they did great.

I have the exact same setup on my Agate Gray car.

The tires do not handle as well as my old PZeros and I doubt that will perform better than the new Michelins but they allow me to drive below freezing. I have no idea how they work in snow as I will not drive my car on the same snow covered roads with my yahoo SUV neighbors.

Stopping, handling in wet conditions? No problems noticed here.

I waited for a porsche coupon and some other discounts and purchased the wheel and tire combo from the dealer.

Just wondering. Were your Sottozeros the series II type? I read much poorer reviews of the non series iis.

Awesome! That's the way I intend to drive my C4 this winter!

I have used the Sotto zero II for the last few winters. I think they did great in both snow and rain.

Yep, but that's why you get a dedicated set of winter wheels, so you can mount the winter tires once and forget it. No unmounting/remounting twice a year.
