Default Seat preset buttons

Why is it that I have to hold the button down instead of just pushing it once?

I think the duration of holding it down differentiates between storing a new setting or activating an existing setting.

I must be doing something wrong. The seat and mirror positions do change to the other preset, but I have to hold the button in the entire time during movement, or else it will stop.

In one of my cars, if I'm already driving, I have to hold the button, so I usually hit the button as I get into the car.

Probably a safety feature so you don't get crushed against the wheel.

There is a warning in the manual to turn off comfort entry if you have a rear passenger.

Jlanka, when does that happen ? If you unlock car, open door and push preset button once it should complete all adjustments without need to hold it down.
Mine was faulty too at first. Dealer rectified !

I'll report back after doing some troubleshooting. It definitely occurs when I'm driving (which I guess is a good thing) have to check what happens in park.

This is normal for all cars from Porsche and GM.. it's to prevent you from being smashed if you hit the other driver's button accidentally and they happen to be far smaller than you are.

No matter when I press them, the buttons need to be held in order for the movement to occur.

The one touch feature is essentially your programmed key. Unlock the car with your key and the seat, mirror, and climate controls, and audio setting are activated to your presets. The buttons on the doors are designed to be held down till the seat is fully adjusted. If your wife was five feet tall and you are six foot and accidentally pushed her button while driving things would get interesting fast. OH and by the way if you jump into the seat to fast the adjustments stop so give it a little time to finish before entering.
