Default 22PLE or ISM Kamikaze coatings

I'm going to use a detailer in Columbus OH for coating my 13 white C4 and wheels. They use 22ple and ISM coatings instead of opti-coat. Anyone have any experience with these on their cars?

http://esotericdetail.com

This is their site. High end detailer.

This started with searching for good opticoat pro shop on Cincinnati. No luck. So I'm traveling 2 hours

From my experiences, 22PLE and Opti-Coat are similar in their initial shine and durability. I have not tried ISM.

They are all some kind of clear smear in one form or another. Initially they will look shiny, but they will all eventually become dull and washed away sooner than you thought. I was rather shocked that Opti-Coat is advertised as "permanent" and "impenetrable", as if this 2-micron thick smear is a sort of steel plate.

Oti coat franchise out their areas so Esoteric May not have wanted to play ball. They're all essentially the same and I agree Esoteric is one of the best shops in the Country- just check out their videos and the training they offer.

Yes. Browsing the Ferrari chat forums, the 22ple and ISM coatings have high marks. The ISM coating is apparently a new product that Todd at Esoteric is offering. First coat then every couple months spray and wipe with ISM "Overcoat"

My detailer has Opti Coated all of my current vehicles, M3, X5 (2) and a 535D. Recently, he decided to test a fairly new coating - Modesta. I do not want to get between you and your detailer on this topic, but do yourself a favor and review this coating. Opti Coat and CQuartz are amazing based upon my experience, but Modesta is in a different league (having personally viewed the results).

I always have the inner barrel and outer section of the wheels machine polished prior to coating, this makes brake dust less likely to stick and cleanup simple. My current C4S, new is in the shop, waiting for Modesta, I should have it by Friday and will post pictures. Here is a link to Modesta: http://modestausa.com

Thanks for that input. I'm really interested in which coating looks best on white. I'll be talking with Esoteric detailing about modesta.

Please post what you find out. I'll be driving my car from the dealer to Todd for a full new car prep and XPel front clip (whenever that ends up being).

Yes. Less than 90 minutes from Todd, which is lucky. Pickings are pretty slim around here. I'm still looking for a professional quality detector/jammer installer without any luck.

Any others here try the Kamikaze ISM Coating?

I just picked some up from Esoteric and look forward to application as soon as i finish a paint correction.

Application appears straight forward enough... other than 24+ hours cure time in low humidity environment.

I had my car (991 GTS) done at the guys at Esoteric a month back or so. Best decision I've made. Had a full frontal bra & new car prep service. These guys know what they are doing. Couldn't be happier with their work. My dad recently bought a MB & he's planning on taking there this summer--& we live ~2hrs away!
