Tread wear
C2 with 20" OEM Pirellis. When measuring tire depth I'm using a quarter to check for 4/32". The outside tread block height is a fair amount less than the next tread block (ie when using the gap between the first and second tread block). Rear more dramatic than fronts.
Is that normal or a sign of abnormal tire wear suggesting a need for an alignment?
I guess to ask it a different way (for those that have NEW 20" Pirellis) - on your new tires are the first two tread blocks even in height (across the first tread gap)?

How many miles?
Many owners are reporting pretty flat wear across the tires. My insides are wearing slightly more than the outsides. Both front and rear. I consider this normal. I have over 6,000 miles. About 1/32 difference from the inner vs the putter.
Yours sounds like the opposite. Which seems abnormal. But, you really need to be using a proper tire depth gauge in either mm or 1/32 increments. Then report. And make sure you're not hitting a tread depth indicator when measuring.

Oh, and all the groves (4) on a new Pirelli should measure the same. 9/32's. 20 inch. N-0 Porsche OE tire.

Getting close. Use it as a bargaining chip and knock off $1600.

I'm definitely wearing the outside with plenty left on the inside. Just posted another thread on seeking alignment advice.

Don't worry about it. Long tread life is WAY over-rated. Don't you love that new tire smell in the garage on cool mornings?

Burning Brakes
As I've noted before on a PDCC thread, I have 12,000 miles on my 2013 C4S, and probably have a thousand or so more miles left on the rear tires. Includes 1 track day. Tire wear is pretty even across, although i have not measured it.
On my previous cars (most recently a 2008 997 C4S and a 2011 997 C4S) I never got more than 7,000 miles out of the rear tires, and the inside edges were completely gone.
Having all the wear showing on the outside of the OP's tires sounds off, as LexVan mentioned.

Drifting
I don't have a 991, but on my 2012 GTS that came with Pirelli P Zeros, I have the same wear pattern the OP describes on the rear tires, with the outer edges appearing to show more wear than rest of tire. I have noticed this same wear pattern on other 911's with the P Zeros. Even new, the outside tread area seems to have a little less tread than the rest of the tire.
I have always kept my tires properly inflated, so it is not from that. I don't know for sure, but thinking that Pirelli might have a little less tread depth on outer edge to keeps the tires from chunking during hard cornering. In any case, I don't expect to cord the outer edge before the rest of tread is to the point where tire needs to be replaced.
