Default Time for an oil change, I guess

So I have the notification popping up, telling it's time for an oil change, in 4000 miles or 20 days. I bought it in mid-October last year, and just passed 6k miles.

My SA said it's a known software glitch, and he has a patch for it. I'll get it taken care of, along with an oil change, Monday. And a tire plug. Damn roofers!!

He also said he'll have either a Cayenne Diesel or Panamara for me to drive. I think I'll take the Panamara, never driven 1 before.

I love that fresh oil feeling.

We have similar driving habits. I bought mine June 30 last year and just had the first service done last week at 6,000 miles.

Two tubes, that transmit engine music to the cabin, were replaced, a software update done on instrumentation and both door "arresters" replaced. I was not aware of these "issues" and didn't request them. Guess they were part of the unpublished "recall".

He told me to expect 3-4 hours, so I'm sure there's more than just an oil change going on.

Yes. There are a few updates they will run. Don't let them wash it.

Really? Most dealerships will NOT do this. They'll try to sell you a new $500 tire. If they do, keep the pluged tire as an emergency spare in your garage/basement/crawlspace.

I was smart enough, or dumb enough, to get the road hazard warranty. He said he'd normally charge $20 for the plug, but it's not worth going thru the paperwork to get it.

It looks like I'm getting close to needing new rears anyway. I don't have a gauge to measure, but I can just see the top of Lincoln's head.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that wore out their tires fast.

I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on there now. Fantastic tire.

Did you get the same size (245/295) or one larger (255/305)?

Actually, not that much.

Well, I'm having fun, but nothing that should wear out my tires. I haven't been on a track, no power slides, I've never even turned off the traction control.

This reminds me: I need to check my wife's tires. Her Camaro also has the P-Zeros, and over 10k miles.

Well, since we've already gone OT....

We might need new tires on the Camaro next summer. WTH? She has double the mileage on her tires, and still has about 6/32". I have about4. (This is after subtracting mileage put on our winter tires)

There has to be a difference in the tires, but I can't find it. Hell, Pirelli doesn't show anything for the Camaro, even though it was the factory tire. Tire Rack has 2 P-Zeros for my car, and Discount Tire has 3. They each have 1 for the Camaro.

Pro tip: Don't use a penny to 'measure' your tires. I had the service done yesterday, and the tech measured 7/32+ for the rears, and 9/32 for the fronts.

I guess I need to start having more fun!!
