Default Impressed with mileage

Just returned from road trip. Dallas to upper Michigan, Glen Arbor. With my base 911 and manual transmission got 32.4 mpg on way and slightly less on way back in 7th gear. Was not expecting such good mileage. Of course once I was there, it was another story...

That 32.4 mpg number is a good number and it is significantly better than the older much loved 911's such as the 993.

Likewise just drove 150 miles across uk. Peaked at 35 mpg but then put my foot down! Average over whole journey from cold start 33.1 mpg, 71 mph average speed. Not the most adrenaline filled journey but happy with the fuel

DPC's 32.4mpg is actually 36.85 in UK gallon terminology. Now, that is VERY good for such a high performance car!!

When my wife drove the PDK in the 997.2 we would get over 30. I have no idea what the 991 is going to get with the power kit.

I have made three cross country trips carrying a bike on the roofrack and still averaged 26-29mpg at around 80-85mph. It IS amazing that a car with so much performance potential can also be miserly.

In 7th gear highway cruising I easily get low 30s with the powerkit engine. Impressive. The car barely turns 2000 rpm at 70 mph.

How is that...I thought mpg is the same unless in UK either the gallon or the mile is different size than US...can you please explain?
