There were literally dozens of angry threads on the topic on various BMW and car enthusiast forums. But my understanding is that new M3/M4 sales have been strong.

On a related topic, although it pains me to say it, I believe Porsche will ultimately phase out MT. Although this will upset many 911 enthusiasts, I expect many (most?) of these folks will adjust over time and move on with PDK.

With all of this said, I'd love for Porsche to keep N/A alive -- I'm certainly not advocating turbocharging the 991 base/S.
I agree; I wonder if the 991 facelifts will offer an MT or not ...

I can say that fuel economy is not on my mind when I drive the 911. I am currently getting 11 mpg over the first 70 miles of driving. Its up from 9mpg when I picked it up at the dealer. I doubt I will ever see the MPG that they advertise.

unfortunately (for us) i'm convinced this is how its going to end up. the greater good is for environmental protection and the legislation appears to be pushing automakers into this direction. anyway...get the TTS!

Better ck with your dealer. Production run for current TTS was apparently only for 15 months and that time is nearing an end soon. Two different dealers I called mostly confirmed that to be accurate. Thread on this over in turbo section a few months ago. No idea how accurate it is but I got my order in for a Sept delivery - yellow TTS Cab.

I don't think Porsche would alienate those people.
I agree with this. But we will all want the minor changes and increased HP. My first 911 was a 2003 996 and when I was shopping I didn't really consider a 996.1. The 996.2 looked so much better to me. Then I had a 997.1. And when the 997.2 came out I liked and wanted the updates. I hate to say it but I kinda know that what ever they do I will want it. lol
