Thanks for all the positive vibes.

Yes, I do have a Mexico Blue!!! If I ever figure out how to upload photos from my Mac, I'll post a shot of her...she is lovely. Waited 6 months for her delivery due to the PTS color. Heard from mechanic last night and I should be picking her up tonight, just in time to lead a drive with my PCA group tomorrow!

Let's go driving!

]]The 50th edition on the Porsche Experience day did the same. Had to lever the clutch pedal from the floor.

I will say that part of my decisionmaking process was the realization that one option would have received a lot more engineering attention than the other.

I suppose PAG would claim that they developed the PDK box as a manual in parallel ... I'm not convinced.

frankly since the PDkK& 7MT share a considerable number of components in common I wonder if I would even bother with the MT anymore, its not as if its
a choice between the mighty G50 and Tiptronic anymore.

I dont have a choice anyway, my wife wants to drive our next 911, and she cant drive a manual (which means she can never drive my GT3)!

I knew two guys who loved their Sportomatics . . . one in a 1972 E and the other in a 1975 911S. The 1975 owner liked his so much he found an earlier 4 speed Sportomatic to swap in place of the later 3-speed Sportomatic that came in his 1975. Of course he commuted to work in Southern California traffic. To each his own . . .
I guess I am getting old as I ordered PDK in my 991

i have a new 991 GTS with just over 3000 miles and recently experienced the same problem last week--shifted into 4th gear and the clutch stayed at the floor. had to pull over and let the car stall. i pulled the clutch back up with my hands. it seems to be functioning normally now. i am taking it to the dealer tomorrow. i had a 991 C2S MT for 2 years, never had a problem with that car.

have any of you had any further problems since your repairs last summer? did they determine exactly what caused the problem, or were they just guessing?

2013 911 with 15k miles and had the same thing happen tonight. Looking to accelerate quickly from a stoplight, sport mode on, traction control off, revved the engine up to about 5000 RPM, popped the clutch and there was a hesitation as clutch kinda hung half way up. It then popped fully up and the strong clutch smell started. The car drove fine the rest of the 30 mile trip home, although I didn't test it again. Do I head to the dealer?

Not sure how relevant this is, but just purchased a CPO 2013 Carrera 7MT and haven't picked it up yet because the dealer says they are forbidden from delivering it before they replace a hydraulic line on the clutch. Could be the same issue. Our dealer is calling it a recall, but I can't find anything about it online.

Cav,
What ever came about with this? My clutch is currently being repaired. Was the final outcome that it was a recall? Did they call it this on your service order?

It was replaced before it was delivered, no charge. I'll check and see what I can find in the paperwork but I don't recall at the moment. Sorry to be of so little help.

Interesting that during 16 months and 4 pages of posts the OP who had only this one post has never replied or followed up. Given other posts there might actually be a "there" there but still . . .
