I paid MSRP on my 50, which was on the lot.

We all knew dealers would tell you things depends on selling or buying. When they try to sell you that Guard Red 9XX in the lot they would tell you it's a sport car color and all that crap...But when you try to trade in your Guard Red they will say, "man, if your car is silver or black I can offer you a few thousands more but it's Guard Red..."
To the OP: Too late to worry about if you've gotten a good deal. It's a beauty. Enjoy driving the car and you will soon forget what you paid for it.

This discussion reminds me .........Years ago (1985ish) I was looking to buy a Datsun 280ZX and as an option on the sticker was listed EDP $6000. Thinking wow this is some option what is it!!!....when I asked what EDP was I was shocked..EXTRA DEALER PROFIT..I walked out.
With Porsche I find once it's pulled in the garage you forget what you paid for it....Enjoy!!

Pkumar Have you picked it up?
I disagree, I think they are highly appreciated. I don't know why people keep saying it didn't do well. It has sold out with a year of first deliveries, that's 1963 of the most expensive 911 in non turbo or GT3 format - against a total of over 30,000 911's in all configurations, ie C2, C2S, C4, C4S, Cab2, Cab2S, Cab4, Cab4S, Turbo Cab, Turbo Cab S, Targa, Targa S, Turbo, Turbo S, GT3 - that's 1 against 15 models, at least 5 of which are in similar luxury grouping (upper 911 prices) & have been released in the same timescale so to capture almost 7% of the 991 market as an expensive limited edition model is fantastic and shows desirability of this model - I am pretty certain over 80% of those who bought got zero discount which is not the case for porsche's other models. This is a very different car to 40th which also ran for 1963 but was heavily discounted.

I just got $9K off and a strong trade in on my 2009 C2S $60k (I got $20k off that one, (trunk money and 10% off MSRP) But then again I paid $5K OVER for a 997 GT3!

Don't know about buying a car from the lot but when I purchased my made-to-order 991 a month ago, I tried very hard to get some discount but I also did not get any. My dealership sells over 2000 Porsches per year (they claim to be the biggest dealership in the world) and the sales guy said that they have no reason whatsoever to give any discounts as customers keep on coming anyway. I also think he was telling the truth because during the 3 hours that I spend with him when I was making my order final, the sales guy at the next desk told 2 turbo's!!
All I got was a free Porsche car-cover but I don't care and I just want to forget the price a.s.a.p. and enjoy my car for what it is. So, never look back and hit the road. Enjoy!
