2013 991S 1st service
My CS is 11 months old with 10,000 miles I guess it's time for Oil change, 1st service etc...
Any advise? do I just give it to the dealer and get it done? other alternatives?
Thanks for the word of wisdom...

My local dealer recently did my 13 C2S (June build) for the 10k mile oil change.
They had the car for about an hour and a half and charged $269. They topped off the other fluids and I noticed they checked the tire pressure all around as well. They also replenished the bottle of Mobil 1 0-40 quart kept in the frunk that I had used about half of at around 8k miles with a new one.
I really like how my car (PDK) shifts and I don't have the 2,500 hesitation issue so I asked that they inform me before they did any software updates. They informed me there were no updates needed and that was that. I have noticed that the oil temp. runs about 15 degrees F. cooler than before the oil change across all driving conditions. I know Porsche is adamant about the 10k mile interval and that's fine but in the future I'll have the oil changed every 5k miles at the most.
Service was performed at Pacific Porsche in Torrance Calif. and I was completely satisfied with everything.

Laurent, one suggestion I'd make, is to do a Blackstone UOA at your oil change. I'd like to start seeing some used oil analysis data on our 991's. Blackstone will send you free test kits. If you buy the UOA's in bulk (6 pre-paid test) it costs about $22 each.
Before you turn the car over to the dealer, ask for a quote and itemization of the planned work to be done. If you have multiple dealers in your area, you can then compare price & service, and make your selection.

My first checkup at 10K included an oil change along with a bunch of other "checks," bill was closer to $400. Next one was oil service only at around $230. 30K oil service is coming up soon, the SA told me the 40K will be more expensive and comprehensive.

Oil service interval for 991 is 10K. Having owned a plethora of recent cars using synthetic oil and longer intervals, I am totally okay with the 10K interval, especially since I drive my car regularly so there won't be long time periods between changes. Might change it more often if it was a garage queen.
