Flat tire is hopeless in a 991
I have owned 5 911s. My current 2013 991 leaves me stranded if, as I now do, have a large nail in a sidewall. That is, I have no inflatable spare, no jack, the sealant bottle cannot be used with a sidewall puncture, AAA will not remove the tire and put it on one of my jackstands and the locals cannot get me a replacement tire for a week.
What have you done under similar circumstances?

Hi Freeman, I just got my first screw in one of my tires. I have a jack and jack stands, so was able to remove the wheel. I also ordered another set of tires because the ones I like (MPSS) have intermittently been in short supply, so had a set on hand. I could have patched it as a "stop-gap" as it was not on the side wall, but as I track the car, patching is sort of a no-no.
With that said, they do make a flat tire kit, that includes a spare wheel and tire, jack, etc. Suncoast carries it, if this helps as all.

Sorry, but Mike owns my 993. It has a jack and an inflatable tire. PRA will only take your car to a Porsche dealer who wants $548 for a tire that Discount Tire sells for $277. Do you have a better suggestion? Thanks.

Everyone needs to carry the vulcanized rubber tire kit for road side emergencies. Granted, this won't help for sidewall stuff but better than the sealant.

My Porsche dealer's tire was priced the same as tire rack when I had the same issue in my last 997.
In my area Porsche uses the same vendor for roadside assistance as AAA. Nice dude but didn't know where my battery was located when I needed a boost. Not sure if Porsche roadside differs in other places.

I also had to wait a week for my dealer to have an opening.
If you need your car right away I would have it towed (on Porsches dime bc it's under warranty) to a local reputable tire shop. Just make sure they have the tire in stock first.

I have had 4 flats since I had the car for approx 14 months and have never been stranded. Every time whatever had caused the flat stayed stuck in the tire including an adjustable foot from an Ikea table and a 3/4" bridge bolt.
Life is too short to worry about this stuff. If someone is that nervous they can get the spare tire kit.

PRA took my car to the dealer who had the tire in stock and charged me $550 for a 20" rear Pirelli tire that costs about $75 less (not including shipping) on tire rack. PRA service was exceptional and I was out in and out of the dealer in less than 30 min, we'll worth it for the slight markup.

I always buy my tires from Tirerack. They have a warehouse in Schreveport, LA so with regular UPS shipping I get them the next day. I have a neighborhood tire shop that mounts them. I've only used Porsche roadside assistance once for a flat on my Cayman, they were reluctant to, but I had them take me home so I could deal with it there rather than paying dealer's inflated prices.

I had a similar issue. Screw in the tread but somewhat sideways. Got a tire shop to do a "quick fix" then drove to the dealer who ordered a new tire. The new one arrived next morning so I went by and had the first service done and new tire installed. The tire (Pirelli 305) lists at over $1k in Canada but Porsche Centre Vancouver charged me about the same as it would have cost including delivery and duty to get the tire from Tire Rack.

Former Vendor
It's not uncommon for people to buy spares just to keep in the garage in case they need one. Don't forget we can dropship a replacement tire right to the installer, and in a lot of cases we can get the tire out the same day it's ordered.
