Default Does Navigation system speak?

I can't seem to locate the instructions to make the Nav. verbally give me step-by-step, turn-by-turn directions.

What am I missing?

I would check the volume first... on pcm hit sound then options then increase the navigation volume. Let me know what happens.

It does speak. First thing I did when picking up the car was have the voice turned off by the salesman as he was delivering the car.

Maybe you just got lucky; every 500th car Porsche build they give the buyer a free, wonderful surprise by deactivating the SatNav voice.

Hmmm.... Guidance volume is at 8.

I'll take it out for a drive and adjust it while setting a destination with the Nav. system.

The nav voice can be adjusted. You can have your wife's voice or your girlfriend's voice (or husband and boyfriend, etc)

My problem with the voice as both here and in the rental 991's in Germany, even in English I'm waiting for the swear words when I turn when she doesn't want me to. They aren't always right in the programming.

Wife took the car out and I was riding along to fiddle with the Nav.

It does speak. She just has the guidance voice volume too low so it's drowned out by her blaring 80's music and the PSE wailing at 4000+RPM.
