My dos centavos, for what it's worth.

I just received word my request for rear grill slats in exterior (PTS) color has been denied (I had removed it from the build but the request had been filed).
They have approved LTS in black natural leather but it will delay the build from February to April. I have until 12/20 to decide if I want to miss an extra two months of driving season.

Take the delay for the sake of Rennlist team.
We need to know if natural leather in 'Black'
is worth the extra cost. And you, Keith, are
our designated 'guinea pig'. But if you decide
to go with natural/premium 'Black' leather, let
me give you a word of advice. Spend the extra
bucks on deviating stitching, even if you go
with 'white' or 'silver' thread. With the default
standard dark grey stitching on the 'black' leather,
nobody will even notice your vastly more expensive
interior. Do yourself the favor & go with something
that will make that 'Black' natural leather really 'pop'!

Standard 'dark' default stitching on 'Black' interior:

Can you even see the stitching?

Deviated Stitching in a lighter thread like 'White' or some shade of 'Silver':

Agreed! Deviated stitching was well worth the cost and you appreciate it everytime you get in the car.

I have Pebble Grey stitching in my car. I added the door sill trim after the car arrived. I prefer the leather then the shiny black plastic that get's scuffed anyway.

I think deviated stitching will be one of those things that date a car. I still like it, but quite frankly, every car has it now. I have it in my F150 truck. I do like the leather sills though....

Maybe I'm just jealous.

I think the cars date the cars. Forever more we will look at 991.1s and know they were built between 2012 and 2016. Regardless of the interior or options.

I just don't think I can pay over $3K to have them switch spools of thread. I was looking at a $21K Corolla for my daughter yesterday and it had black seats with white deviated stitching. It was surprising how nice the whole car looked for $21K.

Federal Laws that dictate what is required and what is forbidden on vehicles sold in the USA.

SUV's are exempt. Do not know what game McLaren played to become exempt. Or are they illegal?

Does anyone know exactly which parts of the interior can be ordered in LTS and/or deviated stitching and how much each of those items would cost?

$7k+ to pipe the interior? Im a dress designer - and I pipe a lot of my pieces. There is no justification for paying 7K to pipe the interior of a car. Take my word on that.

Additionally $3k+ to have deviated stitching....is outrageous too. They are stitching the interior anyway - they are just using a different machine (or switching the spool of thread and the bobbin). The latter takes about a minute.

The stitching is PURE profit....PURE.

The piping could be $2k and they'd still make a fortune. 7K..........is because they know the buyer has no clue what it costs. I'm serious.

And I love Porsche!
