Eduardo you are the best...the only problem is that by reading your posts I have already added $10K+ of leather and other options (that initially I thought were not needed) on my 991 custom build....damn...
Porsche AG should be very grateful for all the precious information you share on this forum, and for the contagious passion you have for these cars!
thank you!!

On a different topic, here is a beautiful PTS 991S in 'Riviera Blue' in attendance at the R Gruppe Treffen in Cambria CA last weekend - with its 'old' Oct 2013 European Delivery plates for show! 'Riviera Blue' is still one of the most striking PTS colors you can order on a modern Porsche!

I know you like your blue's but I am more interested in the grey-beige classic next to it - I don't think I have seen that shade before (but it could be the light), I thought of 622 but it seems greyer than that. There is lots of other numbers such as 0192 Beige Grey, 75741 Stone Grey, 75742 Grey white, 6832 White (Light) grey, 6833 Cloudy grey & 6834 Beige (Oxford) grey but I haven't seen verified pics of these and would love it if you could share your collection of grey-beige shade if indeed you have one. My apologies for hijacking the thread but blame it on Eduardo's pics!

It's hard to tell from the picture, but I think it is 6410 Dolphin grey.

Here is a nice website with almost all colors and color code, used by Porsche: http://www.elferclassic.de/technik/f...plack_grau.php

In looking around the site for ideas (something which has proven to be incredibly overwhelming!) I came across the espresso / cognac interior. In the configurator it's clearly there as an option on a 911 but not for the Cayman. To get that same look in the Cayman would that necessitate going through the leather-to-sample process and thereby end up a whole lot more costly and much more time consuming?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

-nh4.

I think you might be right, there is also Heron Grey with two variation of 60/61 vs 62/63. The site seems to have some codes wrong but still pretty good. Anyway I started a new topic on this so as not to hijack this thread and would love input from you & Eduardo.

No, thank you for your nice comments! Even though this thread has nearly 104K views and the similar one in the 981 forum has over 24K, neither PAG, PCNA or 'Porsche Exclusive' gives a hoot! Because of 'Porsche Exclusive's lack of cooperation in providing answers to questions on options that I posed to them, I stopped posting for a while. When I kept getting private messages & emails from forum members seeking information regardless, I realized that the value of this thread is really to Porsche's individual customers & Rennlisters, not to the impersonal corporate types who run the company now! So this thread goes on, trying to maneuver through the various hoops PAG & PCNA put along the way in order to help folks here with their custom ordering process for their Porsches & maximize their enjoyment of these unique cars! And the key of this thread is the feedback from current Porsche customers at Rennlist that are providing vital information as to what we can, or can't, do in the custom ordering process! That is also who we need to thank!

First of all, you are not hijacking the thread! It is open to discussion of any subject related to the custom ordering of a 991 and PTS is a key option in that process! And don't forget to include in your list the oddly named 'Man of Chile Grey', which was once done by the factory! Or the beautiful 'modegrau', which shows up as a 356 Pre-A color option in the early 1950's and is currently available via PTS!

The owner of the 'grey-beige classic' is Bill Casella from San Luis Obispo, who I believe chose the color of the Limited Edition 2010 '911 Sport Classic' for this R-Gruppe type of sport-purpose 911 project! I will double check with him & get back to you since I would be interested also on what color code he copied since Porsche is rather secretive about its 'Sport Classic Grey' hue. Unfortunately for us, PAG does not permit anyone to order the exact color of its Limited Edition 'Sport Classic Grey' via PTS. PAG tries to keep certain colors used for special models & limited editions as proprietary those originals. Recently, that has included the 2012 Speedster 'Pure Blue' as well as the 'Sport Classic Grey' of the 2010 Limited Edition!

As an aside, there is also an interesting grey color (although a metallic) currently available on PTS which is seldom ordered but I suggest some of you should consider! It's call 'pfeilgrauperlmetallic / Arrow Grey Pearl Metallic'. The third photo shows a 987 Boxster done in this unique color!

As you might have seen, we have a similar thread for the Boxster & Cayman at the 981 Forum:

https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...e-and-you.html

You will not yet see there examples of PTS Caymans since PAG only allowed PTS on that model starting with the MY2015, which are not in production yet! But you can view on that thread the variety of interiors available on the 981's. As you know, Porsche has a unique two tone combination in 'Agate/Amber Orange' for the 981 which is not normally available to 991 customers! So 'exclusivity' works both ways. But neither of those leathers on the 'Agate/Amber Orange' are the better 'natural' grade. By now, I am sure customers have inquired if the 'Espresso/Cognac' interior could be done as a special order on Boxsters or Caymans. And if so, what is the cost. There is some limited crossover of materials between 981 & 991. We have already seen the 'Amber Orange' deviating stitching of the 981 used on a custom ordered 991 interior! So if you are seriously interested in pursuing a custom order of this type for a Cayman, I suggest you, or your dealer, contact directly Sascha or Melissa at 'Porsche Exclusive' and inquire (see contact info at the bottom)! That is their job. And then don't forget to post here what they tell you!

Thanks Eduardo. When I posted above I got to the thread via forum search and I hadn't realized each section had its own PTS thread. I have since found, and posted to, the one in the 981 section.

It's still going to be a while for me before I'm putting in orders and getting into the weeds with PTS, leather choices, z-options, and deviated carpets but I'll certainly report on my experience as I go through it. Right now I'm on the list for the Cayman GT4 so I'm waiting to see how that plays out. While the rumors of what that car will be swirl around I figure I'll spend some time getting my head around what to expect with the ordering process and in getting as informed as possible.

With that I'll wander back over to the 981 section

Default Personnel Changes at PCNA's 'Porsche Exclusive' in US!

The 'Porsche Exclusive' team in the US is changing. Sascha Glaeser, its current manager, has been promoted to oversee the 'Porsche Experience Centers' that are currently being built at Atlanta and Los Angeles. Melissa Witek continues at 'Porsche Exclusive' back East but has been tasked also with '918 Spyder Client Relationship' since the departure of Daniel Eastman last Spring. Thus, PCNA has recently promoted Matthew Henry (who was a product planner based at PCNA Atlanta since 2013) to be a 'Personal Design Specialist' and he will be transferred to the 'Porsche Exclusive' office on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA next month! That was the CA office of Sascha Glaeser for the past few years. Matthew is a speed enthusiast with a motorcycle racing background. He is young and appears energetic, so hopefully he'll be able to come up to speed re: 'Porsche Exclusive' in a relative short period of time. No decision yet as to who will become manager of this operation after Sascha leaves to devote his full time to the 'Porsche Experience Centers', although it might be someone they transfer from 'Porsche Exclusive' in Germany.

Sascha, Melissa and Matthew at 'Porsche Exclusive' in the US can be reached by emailing them at: <customerconsultations@porsche.us>.

Just ordered a 2015 Sapphire Blue Carrera S 2WD with:
Carrera S Powerkit
Ceramic brakes
#031 PDCC & PASM suspension package
4 way seats
no sunroof
Sportdesign package
PDK
Black wheels
BiXenon with PDLS
Sport Steering Wheel

The approach I took was to sit in, drive, look at, all of the new 911's and Boxster/Caymans in the dealers lot to find examples of what I might want to order and to see what they would look like .

The only thing I couldn't change was the bright metal trim on the Sportdesign steering wheel. I think that when light bounces off it , it will be mildly distracting. Has anyone had this trim piece painted or wrapped?

Be sure you really only want the 4 way seats. If I'm not mistaken, you have to adjust the fore and aft movement of the seat manually. My wife's 997 targa came that way and it was a real PITA!

Correct. Plus two other issues to take into account: a) You can not extend the thigh support forward with 4-way seats; b) Your exterior rear view mirrors do not 'dip' to see the curb without the memory function on your seat.

If you plan to keep the car for a while, Power Sport Seats (14-way) with Memory Package or Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way) with Memory Package are the way to go. As long as you know what is missing with the 4-way seats, order what best suits you & your budget!

I am wondering what components can be ordered in deviated leather with a standard non-leather interior. I have seen deviated seat centers posted. I have seen one car in person with a deviated rear console and armrests. Does anyone know the individual prices for these and any another deviated options?

Default PTS MY2014 991's available currently (July '14) at US Dealers!

I just want to highlight a few PTS 991's that I have found at dealers in the United States. Interestingly, I did not see any PTS currently listed at dealers known for these custom orders (e.g. EuroClassics, Porsche of Roslyn, Isringhausen). Most ordered PTS MY2014 should have arrived at dealers already...if they are coming at all. If you know of any others, please post them so that we know about them and can check out their unique PTS color!
