It's definitely not as "sporty" in a sports car like a Porsche especially, but I think it looks classier and "more expensive". Basically kind of a Luxury VS Sport thing. I've seen some pics of it on the 991's and did kind of like them, but it's very color and setup dependent.

One thing I always like about high quality aluminum window trim is that UP CLOSE it looks very pleasing, whereas the flat black rubber/plastic you have on a black-window-trim 991 looks kind of cheap/unfinished, IMO, which also goes for the Panamera. BMW's Shadowline trim at least has a more "finished" look, IMO.

my 991 was ordered by accident with it - it's a GT Silver with the Aluminum strip - it looks surprisingly good - the dealer had a PS and my GT next to each other - the PS had the black trim and i must say (albeit that i am biased) the GT looked more 'finished' with the silver trim..

Not sure what the alum trim has to do with the glass s/r, but I picked a 991 with a glass s/r in Z on 20 June and the s/r works perfectly. Love it! I suspect the delay is due to a material/mechanism shortage rather than a tech prob. Anyway, here's a shot of the car taken at a Medieval town on the Swiss/French border a few days ago...

for a street car i like the trim, i also think it looked great on the 997 targa.

when parked next to an Aston Martin i think the trim makes the Aston owner want to see his local porsche dealer the next day
