It looks like they are killing CW completely.

From the catalogue, the new white appears to be a bit cooler than CW. (Note that these small samples are not very accurate. )

I checked in an online paint database provided by a paint manufacturer and found that Porsche have used quite a few different variations of white since 1957:

Biarritz White
Carrara White
Chiffon White
Cream White
Snow White
Glacier White
Grand Prix White
Pure White
Sand White
White
Alpinweiss (Alpine White)
Arktisweiss (Arctic White)
Polarweiss (Polar White)
Porzellanweiss (Porcelain White)
Perlglanzweiss (Pearl Gloss White)
Oryxweiss Perlmutt (Oryxwhite Pearl)
Atlasweiss (Atlas White)

Plus a few that are classified as "white" in the database but which I doubt really look white (e.g. Hellgelb Perl, Light Yellow Pearl)

So I saw the 2 whites today

The White is much bluer and cold looking than Carrara White

The White looks like a washing machine. No depth at all.

It was so bad I asked the dealer to find me a 2012 build so I can get Carrara White

I remember Gran Prix and Glacier ... there's a 993 thread somewhere with comparison pics. Pearl White is great, too.

The "Sand" White on the current model Cayenne is not what I'd even call white ... it's beige of sorts. Each to their own, but I wouldn't call it white.

ps. I was itching to do the RS 4.0 in one of those three whites.

Are colors sometimes shared between brands? I had an Alpinweiss 3-Series once.

Yes, there was a "Snow White" for Porsches, but it was usually selected by those who are vertically challenged...

According to the database I found, Snow White (German: Firnweiss) was offered 1995-1999.

The "White" is not going to be a hit at all.... I was just at the local dealer today going over a possible Panamera 4S for my wife and am not interested in the new white at all.

+1, seen both in the sample plates at the dealer, Carrara White is nicer with a slight gray hint in it, ONTH the new white is too much "in your face" white . definetely washing machine white. I dont like how it looks in the Cayenne either.

You can see 'Pure White' C9A on VW Toureg's for 2012 as well. Same color.
