Latest 991 news from Car/Driver
Just got the latest C/D (April) with the article "25 CARS WORTH WAITING FOR". The 2012 911 was of course listed. This pics are a bit more revealing with the jury still out when the car is officially unveiled. Looking forward to seeing the car in person to see how much larger the car really is.

There are 2 pics that make the car look not too different than the current car. It will be interesting to see how much larger the car really is. Based on the pics in C/D, the cosmetics of the car look good to my eye. I would imagine that the 991 will be a success. There are too many pcar owners that want/can justify having the latest/greatest. More power to them! I plan on picking up a nice 2nd hand 997.2 cab when the new car comes out.

The C&D "pics" are nothing more than a new artist rendering. A conservative one at that. Pretty much looks like a 997 with the side mirrors on the doors. At this point, all the artists are taking a wild guess as to what the final copy will look like. And recall the recent web communication that indicated that the new 911 would not be coming out until 2012 as a 2013 model. I suspect C&D had already gone to press by the time that news was circulating.

I think the pcar fan base is excited about the 991 for good reason....these cars are awesome! While I'm not a fan of the 996, the 997 is a great balance of performance/ luxury. I expect the 991 to be a very cool car.
