I need to pat myself on the back about the "lightweight retractable hardtop" which I picked up on from previous spy shots.

The automobilemag article mentions an electronic parking brake. I see that on new Audi's and I think its about as stupid as it gets.

The parking brake is a very basic mechanical thing - its very simple. Why would you put motors, servos, wiring and switches?

Is it that difficult to pull up the handbrake?

The Autocar image looks more like they photoshoped the front curves to emphasize the slight changes. It also takes on more of an Audi/VW look in that photo. I seriously doubt that they will move the car in that direction. It would not be evolution which is not typical Porsche.

The automobile magazine image would seem to be more likely the direction I think Porsche will take the car.
One thing for sure is Porsche is really good at keeping things under wraps.

Odd as it seems, I've read that the electronic parking brakes are both lighter and cheaper to make than the mechanical ones. Personally I'd prefer the mechanical brake but weight and cost are everything.
