Default higher mileage 991.1 Turbo

Looking for some advice, currently looking at a one owner 2014 991.1 Turbo with ~43k miles.

Any issues I should be on the look out for? Would I be better off looking at one with lower mileage?

Seems these cars are fairly robust as I have not heard of any major issues to look out for. Car will be DD and occasional track days.

Thanks in advance!

That's a good question. We have beat up on some cars hard that have over 30k and over 700hp (up to 1000). They seam just as robust as ever. Your only issue may be resale value which would effect your current purchase price as well. Dealer purchase? Warranty extension possible?

Depends on price. If price was right I would go for it. How much? Like $100K?

I too would agree in once owning a 2014 that these cars are extremely robust and bullet proof as long as you learn them and take care of them. I would not hesitate on a high mileage example price dependant of course. If this enables you to get into the game, by all means enjoy her and dont look back. Good luck!

Look at usual consumables, especially rotors if it's an S and they are ceramic, an expensive replacement. Maintenance records per intervals and full history... Is this the one in Portland, it has steel, maybe you can have someone inspect for you. Cars are well made, enjoy.

Turbos are well sorted and the motor has had years of evolutionary development. Transmission is very robust. 43k miles is nothing for a modern car, let's be real. If the car was well taken care of, there is no reason why these cars should be strong well over 100k miles.

I'd be careful about ceramics, if present. PDCC and RWS are probably the two things I'd be theoretically wary about (particularly if upsized aftermarket wheels and/or springs installed)

Immaculate service record and documentation is an absolute.

I wouldn't want PCCBs for a car that will see any track duty. They're just too cost prohibitive to beat on imo. If you're handy in the garage, have a lift etc...you could have PCCBs for daily driving (wheels clean) and a second set of steel brakes for track duty.

Saw this TTS as I was browsing the internet this morning. One of the highest mileage 991 turbo cars that I've seen. 82,000mi and counting. Price seems a little steep given the mileage, but it does have only 1 previous owner & clean carfax. Would make a great daily beater to continue racking up mileage --- I would just be concerned with extra maintenance.

What do you guys think?

If it is only DD miles that is nothing. Check maintenance records.
ask if it was tracked , if going to buy check PCCBs density and pads, this will tell you how hard the car was driven. if has P ZEROs on it still, it most likely was never tracked

I did not mean you would not track the car with P zeros, just that if it still had P Zeros on it, means the previous owner did not track the car on a regular basis. If you need a set of P zeros I have my originals in my garage!

The biggest cost of owning a vehicle is depreciation. By buying a good example with "big" miles you save a lot of money.

You can have money to spend on the extra maintenance and deal with any issues and still be ahead.

And the car will lose less in depreciation. Buy a low miles example and of course almost certainly you'll pay a heft premium for the low miles but the premium will go away as you drive the car and put on the miles.
