Question aftermarket exhaust: Muffler only vs muffler, cat & header

Planning to get some exhaust parts for 991 mk2 turbo.
Can't decide between a muffler only or turbo back exhaust system.
Probably going for an agency power titanium muffler. But I don't know how much better the sound will be if i add sports cat/bypass plus header.
To be honest, the header and sports cat is $$$$.
Some one tell me will the extra $ worth the extra dB

Equal length manifolds really help for a smoother GT3 type sound and pitch. Over the years we've found they enhance the sound of pretty much every exhaust system. As for the muffler and cats it really depends on your requirements. Performance versus sound. Muffler design obviously affected as well. I would be glad to have a conversation with you on it and help out if you'd like. Feel free to reach out anytime.

I will definitely go for the sound. I am driving in downtown Toronto most of the time. I've heard my friend's TTS with kline headers + europipe system. It sounded like a NA car but with backfires and turbo sound. Do you have any solution for an exhaust system sounds as 'gt3' as possible?
And thank you very much for your reply )

Cheers

If you have a favorite I can help you decide but I've had the best results in performance sound and value with the Kline Innovation X pipe systems. Now there are several configurations to meet everyone's taste as far as decibels of sound go. I have some holiday inventory and I'd love to give you a very attractive price and an awesome and proven set up. Always with my Sambo guarantee that you're happy!

Great!
I am still trying to make up my mind. If you don't mind, can you give me some details on popular setups?

There are quite a few options that have a large impact on sound:

1. Muffler - stock vs aftermarket, many options here
2. Catalytic converter - stock (~600 cell I believe) vs. 200 cell HFC vs. 100 cell HFC vs. bypass
3. Headers - stock vs. aftermarket

Personally if I were buying only one piece I'd replace the factory catalytic converter with a HFC/bypass pipe before I would replace the muffler. That will open up a lot of sound and offer more performance than replacing the muffler. The muffler would be next, and I had planned to change both out.

Sam has a great reputation here and on 6speed and seems very passionate about his work. Love to support a vendor like that. I almost pulled the trigger on a Kline muffler and HFC a month ago. With house renovations being postponed again and again while I took delivery of the new TT with an order list that kept growing and still will be getting an extra set of wheels the discussion went about like this:

So I get to wait while the house gets some attention, the garage will have to wait a little while. Eh well... won't be too long

The Kline system can be had in inconel or steel, and the muffler can be configured at a lower and higher volume level. I understand the steel offers the same muffler performance with a fair bit less cost while the inconel system is lighter and I expect more resistant to corrosion. Personally I was leaning towards the inconel muffler and 100 cell HFC.

Nice!

My 991.1 TT was in white, so to change it up a bit this time I'm going with GT Silver. Delivery is scheduled for April.

I know your pain full well, thank goodness it's winter.. waiting in summer weather would be painful!!

BTW Sam I'm all ears on what you have to offer, PM me details if you prefer.

Thanks man, I probably will do the inconel muffler and 100 cell high flow cat.

Interested as well....live a little further down the road in Montréal, with 991.2 TTS Cabrio
Do not want to void the long term 6 years warranty, but would like a deeper, mellow tone, louder but not too loud, as I want to keep it classy !
As a side note, I also have a '15 MB E63S AMG, with Tune and Renntech catback mufflers : Louder and deeper tone, Perfect sound for me, Muscular but still Classy.
Also have a '13 Viper with Tune and American Racing mufflers : Louder and deeper tone too, but dont want the Porsche 991.2 TTS to be this loud.

We also have a fine selection of products for the 991.2 Turbos. Sport Headers, Sport Cats, Catbypass Pipes, X-Pipe, Several Exhaust Tip Selections, etc. Most components are modular as well, so you can use with factory or our exhaust products if you want to do it in stages. My personal favorite is our Race Supersport X-Pipe Exhaust System

Sport Headers

HJS 200 Cell Sport Cats

Catbypass Pipes

Supersport X-Pipe Exhaust System

Polished Chrome GT2 Style Tips

Polished Chrome Quad Tips (Black Chrome also available)

Stock versus Sport Supersport X-Pipe Exhaust System

Stock versus Sport Headers/Sport Supersport X-Pipe Exhaust System/BMC Filter

991.1 Turbo Stock versus Sport Headers/Race Supersport X-Pipe System/BMC Filter/Custom Tune. 991.2 tuning coming soon to accomplish similar gains.
