Pulling trigger soon - thoughts on config?
I'm planning to get a TTS for a daily driver (I do not really drive daily, but the car for regular driving). I'm going with a rather basic configuration because it's going to be hauling kids and used in any weather, so more of a super-nice workhorse rather than automotive jewelry.
http://www.porsche-code.com/PHBB5AX5
Some doubts that I have:
1. White (chalk) interior (with graphite). I love how it looks and love two-tone in general, but I cannot find a two-tone that would go as nice with Miami Blue. I'm not wearing blue jeans much, but there will be dirt...
2. Aero kit. I have not selected because 1) it does not add that much, and I'm not in love with the front bumper sides or painted rear trim, to be honest; 2) I'm worried about practicality of painted side skirts - I have some scuffs on my GT3's skirts, and if they were not black plastic, they would have been expensive and annoyed me; 3) I think I might like an aftermarket option more (but I have not seen any I like). On the other hand, I like the aerokit rear, and it does make the car look more special. So not sure.
3. Yellow belts. I like the contrast of blue and yellow. But may be too much?
4. I did not add any extra leather because I think everything important is covered by default. I like the dashboard trim to be leather too, but as I understand that would put contrast stitching on the dashboard top, which I find distracting given the chack-color threads used in my color combo.
5. Centerlocks... I'm leaning to keeping them because I do not like any of the 5-lug wheels offered, and I learned to change centerlock wheels in under 30 minutes on my GT3. But I still think 5-lugs are easier to deal with and enable more/cheaper wheel options.
6. Burmester. I love it in my Cayenne, and will definitely have it in the replacement new Cayenne or Panamera wagon when either becomes available. But in TTS it probably will not sound as nice and I'll be listening to the engine driving with windows down much of the time. Leaning to getting it anyway.
7. Seat ventilation. I loved seat ventilation in Cayenne when I drove in California. In Vancouver, where my TTS is going to be driven, I found it needed less than a dozen times per year. Not sure if the extra weight and cost are worth it. Leaning to getting it anyway.
8. Front lift - not sure I will need it, but with the car being daily, and with me potentially lowering it, I decided to add it.
9. Anything missing?

Looks good to me though I'd go for blue seat belts not yellow. Chalk is going to be a pain to keep clean but if you like it, you like it. I've not found any times I wished for a front end lifter but if you lower the car you might. You might stay with Bose and just upgrade the tweeters for a lot less money.

Love Miami blue in this car. I'd skip the aerokit - I don't care for it.
Blue/gray clashes with Miami blue, I think. That's subjective of course and I don't like the blue dash anyway. I'd probably get the black interior with the yellow belts, yellow sports chrono and Z-option deviated stitching in yellow.
Centerlocks just look cool - yeah they are an impractical and stupid choice otherwise. But they look really cool.
Get the vented seats if you have a trace of doubt.

If you go with the Chalk / Graphite interior you can add seat inlays in deviated color (graphite) like mine. This option does not show on the configurator, but it's available on the Dealer screen.

I received this from the Porsche Exclusive- Personal Design Specialist who is working with me on my build when I asked the same question about seat inserts for my 2017 build:
While this interior was previously possible via a lower cost option to deviate seat centers, this is no longer possible. PAG has reduced the ability to customize two-tone interiors via these normal options in order to minimize complexities and they are in the progress of changing them over for the next model year so they are more simplified.
For the time being, we would have to complete this request via special wishes (CXX) in our Exclusive Manufaktur area right after the production line. his customization would not typically add more than a week of production time to your vehicle

Yeah, deviated color inserts look very good, indeed. Too bad it's no longer a (reasonably priced) option.
I do not think graphite clashes with Miami - from outside in, it looks perfect. From inside out, it's a bit unusual, but pretty good to my eye. It's hard to make blue hues clash, especially given how neutral, almost gray, graphite is. It looks like a light blue jacket or sweater over a white shirt with slate jeans - pretty classic combo. Or it can end up looking like this:
I do not like black interiors on sports cars, and I cannot see any other interior working well with Miami Blue.
I'll probably also get the steering column in leather and maybe dashboard trim in leather too, although that might be distracting with white stitching reflecting in the windshield.

With graphite / chalk interior, I would not do yellow belts. A bit too busy.
Get the FAL, especially if you DD the car.

Love your configuration and Miami Blue looks great.
My suggestions:
1) Get logo and model designation painted in Gloss Black
2) Aerokit - Turbo (I think if you're going for a flashy color you should add this for a more exotic look)
3) Headlight cleaning system in exterior color (you don't want chrome nubs by the lights)
4) Power Steering Plus
5) Lane Change Assist and Active Cruise Control
6) Instrument dials and sport chrono clock in White
7) Seat Belts in Silver Gray not yellow
8) Leather steering column
9) Porsche Crest on Headrests (this is a must)
10) Visors in Alcantara
11) Brushed Aluminum Interior Package
12) Model designation on doors in silver
Also I would skip the front axle lift system

Some good points there, thanks! I'm going to accept much of the suggestions, actually:
I'm not sure what this is "12) Model designation on doors in silver" - can you provide more info?
I'm not a fan of brushed aluminium - I have it on the GT3, and never really liked it. I like CF, though. I live in the mountains, so I'm going to get front lift after all. I'll also probably end up lowering the car slightly.
Not sure about visors in Alcantara vs. leather. Is the logic that Alcantara will match headliner better? If so, makes sense. My cayenne has Alcantara visors without it being spec-ed, so I thought it was standard on a more expensive 911...

I am a huge fan of the natural leather option for its superior feel and durability but was not sure it would work with Miami Blue. Miami is a little crazy playful color while espresso and cognac are both very serious grown-up stuff. I like both but was not sure they play well together.
Ok, now got to think about Miami with Espresso Cognac or just Espresso.

Try it out in the 3D configurator. In my case, I rarely like the look of the silver trim. To me, the two-tones interiors look better with the "Leather Interior Package" which results in leather-covered trim. The Espresso looks better with either leather-covered trim or C-F. I'm not a fan with the exterior-color-painted trim, but the configurator will show that if you want.
IMO, you want a dark-colored dash. The light-colored dashes produce annoying-to-most reflections on the windshield.
Also, note that you CAN do leather-to-sample. So, theoretically, you could LTS classic gray or something else that you know would float your boat with Miami.
Good luck.
