Any Body Guys Knowledgeable?
Hello all....I asked this before...but now wondering if I asked the right question?
I want to enhance the look of my Basalt Black TTS and given it was one of the first ones produced in 2014, I was unable to get rockers and rear painted at the time of ordering. Fast forward to today, Suncoast now sells front-rear & side air intake grill, rockers and rear fascia all primed and ready for paint application. I am not crazy about the plastic and flat bits on the car in those areas so I think I will paint them Basalt to match. Simply question, should I order all those parts from Suncoast and paint them Basalt or simply paint the existing parts on my car Basalt? Would anybody comment on the difference in the material between the two and how it will look? Has anyone done it?
In the end, I think the car will look somewhat lower and a little different from the others. I am afraid to lower the car with sport springs...
Thx for listening.

Why would you buy new parts (unless yours are damaged) to have them painted then remove your old parts and install the new painted parts? Just have the existing parts painted.

Paint your existing parts. Some high wear items could also benefit from PPF afterwards, like the rockers.

OK...just didn't know if the material on the existing pieces is the same as the new Suncoast ones...and the Suncoast guy I spoke with didn't know...hence my consulting the board. If everyone thinks these are paintable, I certainly will then - and yes LexVan, I totally agree film should be installed on the rockers and perhaps the rear valence.

My rear valence (the piece between the exhaust tips) is factory painted, and spotless after +37,000 miles. So, I don't think this area is a high wear item to require PPF. FYI.

Agreed, paint what you have now. Just be sure the shop understands painting some of these lowers is not a 'mix the formula and spray' sort of thing. Proper prep is one thing, but catching light is different on lowers than on body panels. Basalt won't show the variance much, but lighter colors will.
I have two lips for the front of my turbo in circulation so as one gets popped we just pop on the next one. You might consider an extra if needed.
