I GIVE UP, REPLACE PCCBs WITH STEEL
I gave up today and ordered steel rotors to replace my PCCBs.
After wearing out my second set of front CCB rotors.

I thought Randy had good luck with the Pagid RSC1 pads & PCCB, have you tried them? If so what was your experience? I'm headed that way for next season I think.

Karl, how did they test your rotors - what equipment? What were the results/scores? Was anything visible or blistering, or were you noticing any performance decline?
Also, what steel rotors are you moving to? GiroDisk?
I put 50 hard track days on my last PCCBs and they still passed CPO testing.

I believe you're the first person I've heard that has burned through the Gen 3 CCB rotors at such a quick rate. Even with heavy track use, all of the 991.1 GT3 / RS owners that I know of with the PCCBs are having good results with respect to wear.
None have had to replace rotors yet. In fact, one GT3 owner is on his 3rd engine, but the original set of PCCB rotors.
Maybe it has something to do with heavier weight of the TT/TTS?

Yes switching to Girodisc
I also have 46k miles on car. I DD the car like i stoled it.
1/2 my track days are at PBIR, WORST track around for tires and brakes! Point and shoot track.
Also, iam not the best driver in the world

46k in those conditions actually sounds pretty damn good! I can't get 20k out of the brakes on my Mercedes GL63 SUV!! I calculated it...I spend 9 cents per mile, every mile, on brakes for that SUV! (Except for that, best DD and tow vehicle I've ever had)
Anyway, Karl, I'm still very curious how they determined they were shot. I want to be on the lookout, and my dealer is pretty good, but I always feel like I know more about this PCCB stuff than they do and would like to learn from your decision to swap over.

Good luck Karl911. The conversion adds so much linearity to the brake pedal that I had to re-learn my braking technique so as to not engage ABS at every 'stomp' of the pedal

I'd love to hear more details on your comparative experience! Can you please elaborate? __________________

Well, I went through my RSC1 pads really quickly, maybe 5-6 events. Also had dealer inspect my rotors and found they were over 40% used up which frightened me. I did most of those days at Laguna Seca (~1:39 laps on stock N0, N1 Pzeros) which is very difficult on brakes because there are no places for them to cool off. Hence my avatar....
The RSC1 pads never had great initial bite, even on track and they weren't any better than stock pads with regard to linear pedal feel, though RSC1's had more overall performance. So I could just about stomp on the pedal and the initial inertness of the CCB's would delay the onset for me ...kinda bad for honing driving craft but I rarely got ABS involved. Now with the Girodisc and Race Technologies RE10 pads I have to be more gentle or get ABS interference. I changed to Dunlop Sport Maxx Race tires also.
I'm talking about very subtle differences here, but they are what I've felt with my car. As a result I've had to adjust my braking and during an entire track day recently I had trouble with timing. My trail braking became almost nonexistent as I became more conservative in interest of self preservation. All my 991 GT3 buddies slowly walked away from me

Thanks for the feedback, Ron. (Love that avatar...thought it looked like MRLS)
Maybe the setup is Girodisk with a slightly less aggressive pad...
My last question: How exactly did the dealer inspect and test the pads to determine 40% usage? I'm suspicious of the Carboteq device and just how conservative Porsche might be setting limits.
