Goodbye 997 turbo cab, hello 991 turbo s cab....
After some negotiation with the dealer, I've reached agreement to trade in my 997.1 turbo cabriolet and purchase a CPO 991.1 turbo s cabriolet. I'm excited about it, although I loved my 997 turbo and I know that I will miss it. I think I will miss the manual transmission, but not too much. My experience with PDK has been great in the limited times that I've driven one, and I'm looking forward to owning one. I purchased this car out of state, and it will be shipped to me in the next couple of weeks. I'll post more pics when it's delivered.
This car interested me for many reasons. I like the way it was optioned by the original buyer. I also like the color. I tend to be attracted to 911s in unusual colors. My 997 was Macadamia Metallic, and my new 991 is Mahogany Metallic.
I'm looking forward to joining the 991 turbo group!

Thanks! I agree on the need for detailing. I can see the swirl marks in the photos and it already makes me cringe!

I'll post some as soon as I get the car. I only have exterior shots right now and the dealership already pulled their photos from their website.

Thanks. I'm really looking forward to getting the car and driving it around town to see how it compares to the 997 turbo in that scenario. Critics of the 991 frequently talk about how the latest generation of the 911 is huge compared to previous generations. I decided to look up the technical specs out of curiosity, and I was pleasantly surprised. Here's what I found:
997.1 turbo cabriolet: 176.3" length, 72.9" width, 51.2" height, 92.5" wheelbase, 3,649 lbs.
991.1 turbo s cabriolet: 177.4" length, 74.0" width, 51.0" height, 96.5" wheelbase, 3,516 lbs.
If these numbers are correct, then the 991 is only 1.1" longer than the 997, 1.1" wider, 0.2" lower and weighs 133 lbs. less. I hardly call that "huge" compared to the 997.
Looking forward to reporting on early driving experience. My cabriolet should show up just in time for our first major snow storm of the season.

That's the plan! I've always run winter tires on my 911s during the colder months. I don't drive them in the serious slop, I've got a GMC truck for that.

That Color is one of my favs, I would have ordered my incoming TTS Cab in Mahogany Metallic, but the wife beat me to it on her Box-S. In certain lights it has some very subtle Purple, or Mauve undertones.
Congrats!
