Thanks! I'm really looking forward to seeing how the paint shines after a proper detail job.
Steve - A-Basin is already open, but I haven't been out yet. It's still warm and sunny by my house, so I'm actually going fly fishing tomorrow. I expect to be hitting in the slopes for the first time before Thanksgiving.

I like MM a lot....It is one of those colors that most guys would never order.....but I TOTALLY see how if one saw a car at his/ her dealer optioned and priced right - it could become your favorite color. It looks great.

Thanks. I'm really looking forward to getting the car and driving it around town to see how it compares to the 997 turbo in that scenario. Critics of the 991 frequently talk about how the latest generation of the 911 is huge compared to previous generations. I decided to look up the technical specs out of curiosity, and I was pleasantly surprised. Here's what I found:
997.1 turbo cabriolet: 176.3" length, 72.9" width, 51.2" height, 92.5" wheelbase, 3,649 lbs.
991.1 turbo s cabriolet: 177.4" length, 74.0" width, 51.0" height, 96.5" wheelbase, 3,516 lbs.
If these numbers are correct, then the 991 is only 1.1" longer than the 997, 1.1" wider, 0.2" lower and weighs 133 lbs. less. I hardly call that "huge" compared to the 997.
Looking forward to reporting on early driving experience. My cabriolet should show up just in time for our first major snow storm of the season.

I agree with you; the difference between the 991 and the 997 is much greater than the difference between the 997 and the 996. The 991 feels like a completely different car, in a good way. The key improvements that stand out to me on the 991 are:
- Suspension and handling. The 991 feels much more stable and solid than the 997, and feels more nimble.
- Interior updates and comfort. Huge upgrade on the interior, and the electronics.
- More linear power delivery. There is still some turbo lag in the 991.1 TTS, but not much. There was significant turbo lag in the 997 TT.
- Stock exhaust and intake noises are much better on the 991.
- I love the Jekyl and Hyde nature of the 991. It's a luxury GT when you want that, and it's a beast when you want that. All it takes is the push of a button.
- It still has the Porsche feel and driving experience, despite the fact that many 997 owners feel that those things can only be found in the 997. For example, many people complain about the electric steering in the 991 cars. I think it's excellent.
- The cabriolet top in the 991 series is a huge improvement over the 997 in many ways.
Those are the first things that come to mind. I'm sure there are many more.

I will add that I occasionally miss the manual transmission that I had in the 997 TT.
I'm thinking I should buy an old air-cooled car to scratch that itch.

I did have the car detailed and ceramic coated, so it's looking much better than it did when I bought it last fall.

Beautiful car and color. I always admire those who get the uniques colors, but I have never had the courage to do something like that.
I just traded (last week) my seal gray 997 Cab 2S for a blk/blk 991.1 Cab TTS. Debating the merits of Xpel vs Ceramic coating. Why did you do the ceramic coating?
By the way, I completely agree with Dennis about the 991 TTS. I considered a 997.2 TTS but I feel the difference is great, and in favor of the 991. I do think I will miss the go-cart, instant-on feel of the MT 997 2S - but not enough to go back.
