Tracking the Turbo

Just for fun, I will share with this group that my Pagid RSC1 pads wore more on the inside than the outside of my front brakes last weekend, and I fried two rotors. $12,000. Be more careful than me. I measure my pads regularly, and had 4mm on the outside pads, but it went to metal on both inside pads.

Is there any benefit to adding Sport DSC to a stock 991.1 turbo? http://www.tpcracing.com/dsc.html
Not clear to me whether this is actually for my car or not.

Yes, based on shops, teams I spoke with. I will have mine on track with other mods in two weeks to test. Will report back. Give the vendor a call and see what shops in your area have sold/installed. Get the opinions of any you trust.

Check the thread on the non-Turbo forum; I asked this question there.

Yes. Standard on 911S, GTS, Turbo, TurboS and on 991.2 on the non-S 911 too.

[QUOTE=worf928;14061327]If you read the threads, there are reported seat-of-the-pants noticeable benefits off-track.
Ya I've kept up with and researched the DSC heavily. Never said there was no street benefit. To me it really depends on skill set and being able to use the DSC, the track is where it shines. IMO for street driving only the cost to benefit ratio isn't enough for DD folks. Instruction seat time would be money better spent. Too each his own though, nice rides all the way around either way.

There are some people like Karl that run 265 front/325 rear with minimal scraping. I have not tried it myself, but my thinking is it will work, too.

No plan to lower the car yet as I think I will need the ridehight for my driveway.
I have the lift, so maybe I can lower. Need to assess first.
I will post my experiences.
Still quite rough weather conditions here in Norway. I will pick up the car in two weeks.

Picked up my car this morning and I must say it definately meet my expectations 100% so far.
A little tame noise, so maybe that maust be corrected in a while.
The Bose stereo plays surprisingly well and much better that I can remeber from my past 2013 991. Is it really the same or has it been improved for the 991.2 generation?
Collected my track wheels at my rubber supplier and I did not notice before this eveing that rear Cup 2 tires are MO rated (Mercedes?). I went with 265 and 325 combo. Can it be 325 is not available in N0 or N1 rating? Need to talk to my supplier tomorrow. Front tires are N1 so that is fine.
Harness is not yet mounted as there is need for a special brackett under the seat, this will arrive in a few days.
The bucket seats (folding type) is really comfortable, at least as comfy as the fixed buckets I had in my GT4. Maybe a bit tighter for the ***, but not by much.
I will put on some negative camber and soon I'll be ready for the track.

Can you get the Turbo with bucket seats? Damn, not possible in north america, even here in Canada (thanks, Obama - jk, of course :-) )

Bucket seat is free option on Turbo S over here.
