991 Turbo -- what do you think?
I am sure that many of the folks on this forum are the potential buyers for the new 991TT. I just saw the pictures of the new 991 Turbo. It looks very awesome and it will be even wider than the C4S...more power and PDK only...

I have been commuting in a TT since 2001 in my 996TT and I always thought that I would be the first to replace my '07TT with the new body style...but I am not sure about that anymore. I kind of like what I have...and I can live with its "shortcomings" versus the new car.
Maybe the new car will grow on me?

I love my car!!!! I am in no hurry to upgrade.
I think after I put in some aftermarket LED tail lights, the car will still look new. I believe their isn't a huge difference in models like the 996 to 997.
However, the 991 tail lights look great, even if they were stolen from Aston Martin. I am not sold on the interior. I think it is great in the new Cayennes and Panameras, just not so much in the 2 doors.

Very happy with my '09. New one (images) did nothing to change that.

I look at cars all the time. I'm an addict but I think I'm done. The 997.1 turbo was the car I have been chasing for a while. Now that I have it there is nothing out that even remotely tempts me. That's not being brand loyal or a snob. It's just the truth. I like all kinds of cars not brand or country specific. From it's release the 997 got me excited. Now the Metzger block seems to be a thing of the past (and manual transmissions) this one is a keeper.
Correction...the only thing that would tempt me from my turbo is an Atlas Gray 997.1 turbo.

I agree.. We have to wait and see what it looks like in person.. Curious if they will have turbo specific wheels. I agree with Spaceman about the interior. Works great in the Cayenne and the Panamera.. I'm just not sold on it in the 991...
McLaren is supposed to come out with another model to compete with Porsche for the $150 k range market.. I wonder what that will be like? They will have to create a rocket to compete with the 991 Turbo...Kind of exciting times! It's always great to anticipate new models hitting the market...More choices is always better...

Planning on keeping my 997TT but will take a very serious look at the 991 GT3 to replace my 2009 Z06. Then again, I'm also going to have to take a serious look at the next gen ZR-1 because it will probably be in the 700 hp range and that might be interesting, especially if steering feel and interior have been improved over the Z06 (still a very fun car to drive, though!).

I went to the dealer today to service my wife's Cayenne and sat in the new 991S. It was my first time. Now I understand why (some) folks don't like the interior. It is similar to the Panamera with the high center console and a lot of "chrome plastic" switches. IMHO it was like sitting behind a piano.
The dealer told me that the new Turbo will show up later this year or early next year...
I will keep my 997TT but I have now decided to lower it and change the wheels.
+1! I will look at the new GT3 and the new GT2 for sure although I am not sure if I want to swing that much money for a GT2 again.
Your comment on the Z06 reminds of my V8. I just sold my '67 Mustang after 20? years and I miss the rumble of a V8. I had built it from scratch and it was set up for the (light duty) track or street. I will probably start another build with a V8...
...Ok...back to the 991TT!
