But a 960 should compete well with a 488 (likely turbo F-8 or V-8) midengined.

Don't think they want to upstage themselves with the debut of the facelift 991 (turbocharged) coming then...

You going to go to the show?

Why tease if you're not going to show it?
They need something exciting on the booth. TT 991's isn't.

Its not planned but I can see a run to Frankfurt the 26th when they are setting up my car :-)
Its about 2 hour drive each way from the Ring.

Isn't this just what MileHigh posted? A Gulf Livery 918? The post was from the experience center in Atlanta #PECATL, not something going on in Frankfurt. Seems to be nothing to do with a new model release.

Actually, I think it's just the Carrera and Carrera S facelifts (with new 3.0L turbo motors)...

That would be pathetic. I think there's a nice surprise on the way.

There is supposed to be a GT4 Cup (or whatever the factory race car is called) coming soon - I guess that might complement the Carrera without stealing its thunder...

Called my sales guy and he told me he hadn't seen the covered car tease pic but said "it was just the refreshed 991". After I sent it to him he responded, "for sure not a 911".......

The future version looks like it has a really wide rear wheel base compared to the 918 pic above. Correct me if I'm wrong.

A new 911 is pathetic? Sort of a big deal, actually...it will be the headline for sure.

I suppose there could be some sort of 960 concept, but it is nowhere near production. The 991.2, 981.2, and new Panamera are all coming first.
