I normally do not like or order black wheels. With the RS I felt the black wheels go well with the LO and ordered satin black due to these reasons:

1. They are satin finish not gloss
2. They look good on the LO on every video I've seen so far
3. They look great with yellow calipers - while I didnt get PCCB I might have my calipers painted yellow before delivery
4. They complement the tons of black plastic on the RS

can you post a link to the video with black wheels? I cant find any. This is one of the things steering me away from the black wheels, is that other than a few pictures, cant get a good view of Lava/Black wheels. The launch car was grey wheels, and it seems all of the major coverage videos have been with grey wheels. The UV car shows up with regular silver a lot, which also looks great.

I believe any of the Jacky Ickx videos show LO with the black wheels

i like black because it hides dust.
i hate black because it is bad for pictures.

Silver or grey would be on my radar.

See this video especially from 4:20 time to notice the black wheels as he is slowing the car

seems that the majority ordered black wheels, and the commentary in this and other threads supports that...something i don't understand is why Porsche chose standard grey for the LO RS launch....instead of black...

Grey appeals to more people so that's why they chose it for launch. Black looks best on LO in my opinion.

This was a big decision for me and I delayed confirming my order up until the very last minute because of the wheel color. My Turbo S is Rhodium Silver and looks fantastic with silver wheels. I chose Lava Orange and did not want another car with black wheels so went back and forth between GT Silver and Ultraviolet. Ultimately stayed with the LO and chose black satin wheels. My 2008 RS is Orange and Black with black wheels so it looks like I am a creature of habit!

I am tracking my RS via satellite and will be docking in Puerto Rico tomorrow and then on to San Diego and delivery to me by mid-September!

Default Grey/Titanium Wheels

Front Wheel

Rear Wheel

Pre-Delivery Inspection of my GT3RS

I picked the launch color "Lava Orange" along with the standard color "Grey/Titanium" wheels.

Car manufacturers pick the best color combination based on study and pre-initial polls they conducted before launch.

Drive safe,

Wow the silver wheels look awesome.
Worried black just disappears
Grey looks ok, if not a little dirty/bland. Had them on my last GT3.
Very on the fence about wheel choice
