Hopefully you have a white RS incoming.

I don't have an allocation yet. Just bunch of deposits, hoping for a good news.

Only logical answer is to add the GT4 and don't get rid of the GT3. I will be adding GT4 but not getting rid of anything. You need BOTH.

they are such different driving experiences - super special high rev drivetrain/rear engine/gt3 icon status - other is mid engine sweetness/stick shift involvement/entry level gt car

and one is a 150k car one is a 100k car...

op can ask the question but no one can answer it for him - what would he do with the extra 50k in his pocket?

couple years private school tuition coming up? take the gt4...family comes first - both are great fun

rich boy lotsa cash? keep em both

Financially, it makes sense to keep both. Seems like both GT3 and GT4s are zero depreciation cars....

You get to drive it for free. How can you pass on that?

For less money, get an RS instead - much better depreciation bet long term.

Come 1Q2016 there will be a whole new tranche of GT4 allocations to US dealers.

At that time, everyone that wants one will get one, maybe even two. And there will be room to negotiate (read: below MSRP).

So drive and enjoy your GT3 for another 5 or 6 months. Come winter of 2016, if the GT4 itch still hasn't been scratched then by all means get a GT4.

Cheers

People are different. Some may prefer oranges and some may prefer apples. Nothing wrong, strange or crazy about it. Asking people on the Internet what you should like best, though...

Not saying you're wrong, but I've had more than a handful of Porsche dealer GM's give me bad information over the years. I guess we will find out soon enough. Thanks for the response.

Also heard from a local GM that more GT4 and RS allocations are coming 4Q2015/1Q 2016. He didn't know how many though.

Truth is the GT3 is fantastic. Although the the what can I do with the 50k is creeping into my head. Can I have just as much fun with the Gt4? More fun with the manual? I was hoping to here from Nate OZ as he runs a sweet Cayman. Sounds like the 50k differential may not be there. I'll probably end up driving both before making the call.

Well you are superman, so anything is possible. For the rest of us mere mortals, we could never shift that fast.

There are more fun cars coming. The 997.2 was a big step over the .1, I'm sure there will be a few more worthwhile upgrades to the GT3 coming. Get a GT4, sell it, get a .2, and rinse and repeat.

Yup, that's exactly the plan. I might even give up my unicorn 997 RS for a .1RS so I can have it to trade for a .2RS.
