Default OT-488 Spider

The 488 Spider is coming quicker than I expected-

Hopefully this news will further depress the 458 market, as I've lusted after a 458 Spider to match with my GT3 for some time.

That looks pretty good. Seems like the side vents flow a bit better with no roof.

Agree. The 488 spider looks much better than the 488 coupe, while its a toss-up between the 458 spider and 458 coupe.

Usually Ferrari develops the Spyder's along side the Coupé's. It's just they release them later in order to sell the coupé's to make more money. Further they design the tub of the car to be the primary load barring member so once the Spyder's are released they will have just about the same strength throughout the car as the Coupé!

I think alot of 458 owners are going to be holding onto their cars just to have the final NA engine. They will get 488's but it will be in addition to the 488's they are ordering. That is my plan and I've spoken to some other owners who are doing the same thing. The 458 is too glorious to give up and at the same time the 488 is a whole new animal. Both great. Both different.

So some 458 owners won't be able to swing two cars so that will put a few on the market but I don't think the 458's will drop any faster on the depreciation curve than they have tracked along for last few years.

I'm going to Maranello in a few weeks for business - I hope they don't have any on display yet or it'll be an expensive trip...

488 And 488 spider. Both blah in my opinion. Have to wait 5 years for next version I guess.

I would buy a Speciale A, today for MSRP if I could. Unfortunately they're all sold. A couple have been flipped for 200K over MSRP, but I'm not going there.

The coupe is getting about $100k over...the A....when there has been one...200-300k over...then again it's more limited than the coupe...499 worldwide.
