Default GT3 with PCCBs track questions

Hey guys,

Just bought a sapphire blue 991 GT3, can't wait to see what it will do.

I've been driving, racing and instructing for ~20 years and need some basics covered for this car if you don't mind?
1) I know PCCBs aren't ideal and this won't be a total track rat, but what are the best pads for PCCBs? I'll stick with street rubber for now, but I still want the most durable pads I can find. How about fluid?
2) alignment recommendations for 80% street/ 20% track?
3) what tools do I need to deal with these crazy *** wheels? I've never had fewer than 5 bolts per wheel? I'm assuming it's no longer 96ft/lbs?
4) any recommendations for seats and a roll bar? Which is the best bolt-in? It currently has 18 way seats, so I can get comfy in my 2 point harnesses.

Thanks,

Thanks,
First, congrats on the GT3.

As to your questions, I am probably not the best person to give you specifics on pads, tools, seats, roll cage/bars, etc.

But a lot of the collective wisdom on this board has been collected and coalesced in fellow Rennlister Orthojoe's track build thread.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3/...d-journal.html

It's a good, and informative, read, and will probably address many, if not all, of your questions.

Hope that helps.

Thank you - very helpful. Not a lot on PCCBs though. Any suggestions for PCCB pads for the track?

Thank you, but RB doesn't actually list any PCCB track pads for sale. They just talk about development. Does anyone sell a PCCB track pad? Looks like there is one from porsche motorsport?

I wouldn't touch anything but a stock PCCB pad, personally. Last thing I'd want is a failure and have Porsche just point at the aftermarket pad as a reason to not warranty them.

From what I understand is that standard pads are ok, however should be changed at 50% ware rate or sooner to be safe.

Stock PCCB pads work great with MPSC2's. No fade. Used stock fluid as well. Sebring tough on brakes but no issues this past weekend.

Stock pads
stock sport cups 2
Stock alignment
You will be amazed !

For wheels
special procedure

You need 443 ft /lbs of torque and suitable torque wrench/ breaker bar.
special aluminum paste ( castrol)
and I recommend a wheel guide like rennline makes to allow the wheel to be removed and installed with out risking damage to your expensive rotors.

Good luck
Elliot

perfect, just what I was looking for. I'm accustomed to stock pads being wholly inadequate, so your guidance is very helpful. Thank you

Nothing is inadequate on the gt3(well the stock exhaust is at low rpm's) the stock pads are paggids and work great. Stock pads are 12mm thick stay on top of them and try not to allow them to wear past 50% before switching them out to protect the rotors. I have a saphire blue with PCCB's as well and have been tracking it hard.

I've done 4 track days this year. Car has 2,800 miles on it. Brakes and pads are stock and are very strong on track. Very little if any fade. I most likely replace fluid with a higher boiling point race fluid soon though.

Why not go with slotted steel rotors?

How many track days did you get out of the pads before you when over the 50% wear?
