Discussion of the GT3R not RS!
I saw some info about it yesterday, was not allowed to take pictures of details and I was more interested in the rumored 991rs cup edition. But 991R was definitely MT and if I remember correctly 475hp. No wing and advanced aero. That's why I made the conclusion that it will be like a GTS.
And 991.2RS will be 4.0l. But I guess that's old news and no surprise.
Oh, And I didn't see any pictures. Just a bunch of numbers.

Nothing more than the obvious. 4.0l engine and 500hp! Didn't hear anything about MT option. I think that the 991R could fill that gap? Maybe they'll put a ducktail on the R and play with heritage a little bit? 991.2RS will be at least 520hp out of the 4.0l engine. Still no word of the "cup edition"

wow! more power out of the 4.0L? I wonder how they're going to accomplish this. increase the RPM to 9200? better intake?

That would be excellect. An 911 putting out 475 without all the wings - wellmore of a daily driver and hopefully a base option for the 7 speed MT as mentioned already. But most people I know prefer the PDK; well those who know not of doing a heel-toe.
But it sucks living in LA dealing with congested freeways and dealing with a manual. Sure on a track but on the 405 going into the Canyon, driving over Sepulveda, and driving by the Geddy Museum at 25mph. Shifting can become very tiresome so sadly I would rather have a PDK if I were to make this my daily driver.
This R version is an odd lot, what roll in the line up does it fill. We still have yet seen a GT2 and probably won't but if we do expect something that will go head to head with Ferrari's 488. Or is it this FeFi being built for? I hope they finally unveil it at the next big european auto show. What is it Geneva Auto Show? Again hopefully Porsche will officially unveil the 991.2 finally so we can see it at the LA Auto Show. I'm Going to that one for sure this year. Without any girlfriend's tagging along. Wife's and GF's can really screw up a day at the autoshow.

the R seems to be a pure heritage play, no real niche except the enjoyment of getting a very revvy engine with a manual transmission for the "purists"... not sure what's truly pure anymore.
if they make it with a little ducktail optional, chrome window trim and some classic fuchs wheels.. maybe tartan throwback interior... will be a cool car.

^^^ probably improved intake will be the major source of a power bump. Really doubt you'll see any rev limit increase in the RS or GT3.
I'd love a manual option, but would not want a 7 speed manual; especially with this engine. Don't see a 6 speed manual having proper ratios.
