OT: Shelby GT350 production is set to begin, who managed to order one?
A total of 137 Shelby GT350's will go into production this year. I know a lot of guys here were looking. Curious as to who was able to secure an allocation for one and what specs did you go with?
I'll go first...
Shelby GT350 ordered 3July2015.
Track Package (MagneRide race calibrated suspension, oil/trans/differential cooling, larger stabilizer bars)
Alcantara
Recaro Seats
Oxford White with Blue over the hood stripes
Price: MSRP (no ADM)

I would've bought one if they threw in an allocation for the Ford GT.

I doubt very much you got a 2015 for MSRP. 2016 yes. 15's are collector items and will be auctioned by dealers if they get one of the very few allocations of 37 R's and 100 non-R's.
I got first allocation for 2016 after I thought I had a 2015, and manager screwed me saying if it was a 15 he would keep if for his collection.
So pissed I told him I didn't want it. Numbers for 2016 estimated to be 4-5k cars so no real need to jump on them now. I want to see numbers and test results.
If you did get a 2015 for MSRP a sincere congrats. Better keep that one with the plastic on the seats and put it in a storage building

I mentioned to my Ford dealer a few months ago that I might like to get one (2015) and to put me on the list. My salesman called in late June to say that the dealership just got allocated 3, the owners were taking 2 of them, and I could come in that morning to order and build the 3rd one. All well and good until I asked how much. $50k over MSRP! After having purchased 20+ cars (kids, business, etc.) from them over the years, I told him how pissed I was. No such thing as loyalty with domestic car dealers. Actually not much with any dealers period. They could care less......
Someone else will be getting the next 20 cars from me!

To me its like the 996 GT2s. There was one year where they produced double digits or so, but I don't think they demand that much more money....I don't think.
All that said, I'm considering a 2016 car. Not worth paying that markup for a 2015 IMO. Give me a late model run with some updates.

I think the GT350 will be a crap shoot just like all the modern Shelby's. Some may hold value but most likely they won't. If you want a Shelby for the investment then go get one from Shelby like the Super Snake. Outside of that, buy it and enjoy it. Better luck buying Apple stock than thinking just because it says Shelby it is going up in value.
