Yup that's correct, the big money is in service.

One thing about Ford though...they back their track cars. I broke my flywheel one of my track sessions (my fault) trans became overheated on the last session of a 2 day event at Road Atlanta. Instead of going into the pits to cool off I tried to force a shift after experiencing lockout. Showed up to Ford the following Monday told them what I did. They ordered and installed a new clutch and flywheel under warranty all replaced no questions asked.

It is so great how track driving has gotten to be so important to marketing that all the manufacturers are making cars today that are so much more track competent than even 5 years ago.

There are still some cooling system issues in some cars, but look at all the track specials out there.

A really well driven 2003 Cobra (Supercharger IRS) pumping out 500 to the wheels (Dependably) , stripped with big brake kit cant keep up with GT3's. Not off by much but the GT3's are faster. Regular stock Porsches it will beat though.. I think its for sale now in Orlando.

One second delta isn't much considering the archaic tech in the 302. I think the new gt350 is going to "wow" a lot of people. I plan to get one (after I finally find that damn GT3 I've been hunting for 14 months....)

The 2010 RS was 6 seconds faster than the 2007 GT3. Big difference, long HP track..

Hilarious and weak guy. And you have known your Fords for years now?

You didn't even know what year car you bought after you paid the deposit. Thats the funniest thing by far about the thread.

Can you imagine a fellow GT3 owner here buying one and not even knowing the year he bought after he paid for it and custom ordered it?

I will be happy to write you an Rx for Aricept

When will the 2016's ship. I figure MSRP's are available soon after, if the Z28 was an indication.

Late third quarter of this year. But, I'd speculate the 350 will have a lot more interest than the Z28 had. It's considerably more advanced than the regular Mustang and uses a very special engine, in a way that the Z28 wasn't, compared to it's SS starting point.

And $20k less than the Z/28 original price. Still it is a limited market for these cars and if they produce 4k units a year it will fill up quickly. Unless something at MSRP drops in my lap in the next month or if 10 people drop off the GT4 list at my dealer I might go this way for a year or 2

The tables could be turning.....
To their credit, Ford has put a couple of 350's into the IMSA/Continental field ( http://www.imsa.com/imsa-tv/episode/...race-broadcast ). I have no idea how modified they are relative to stock, but I love the idea that Ford is racing them on track right on the front end of their existence. If the drivetrain proves reliable as-is, the purchase price is reasonable enough that having to upgrade brakes or suspension wouldn't be too onerous.

BTW, click on the Mosport video on the linked page.

The 15's will be collectible if put away and not driven. There going to build the GT350 and R for years to come there's no hurry to buy.
