Going rate in SoCal for a preconfigured RS is about 100k above MSRP.

Those that turned down a markup of only 25k when allocations first came out and the cars were still configurable are, well, hopefully putting their 25k to good use.

Both.

They're asking for them because they're getting them.

where ? i havent even heard many come into port in SD . a local dealer told me 75k and i was 3rd in line.should have been in any day. But i think it was picked up by one of the first 2 on the wait list. Its getting kinda ridiculous. I was offered a Mclaren 675 lt for 50k over once it comes in decemeber. Also an aventador SV at 100k over msrp. Its frustrating because i really want a RS just wont pay 50 percent more than the asking price me enough to wanna stick with another company. makes these other limited models seem like a bargain in a way XD.... i think i will hold out for a 991 gt2 .

I recently offered $50k over to a NYC area dealer and didn't make the cut.

Got a call today from a dealer that had a couple of RSs show up this week. Wants $100K over for a well equipped Lava Orange one. Don't know if they sold it. Last I heard they had an offer of $60K over. Crazy but obviously the market is setting the price if people are paying these prices. Not me!

Default 2016 GT3 RS

It's not in my nature to flip a car I really want (and I won't) but geez...100k?? That goes a long way towards the racing budget

Guys I am getting a PTS RS in December and feel lucky! (Racing yellow).

This is purely a function of an inflated market and so so many people that have had huge option grants and disposable incomes in 2013 thru today.

There are so many people making high 6 and low 7 figure incomes now. Way more than in 06/07.

For those of us that have been fortunate through several cycles we see this. For many they think the gravy train will never stop and their 100k skills will always be worth 750k.

Pain is coming and before end of 16.

I'll probably own 5 RS before its all over with. Not bought on credit. :-)

Off topic - but my goodness... i hope that there are not people with 6-figure (even high) incomes paying $100k over for a GT3 RS... paying 50% more for an already $200k toy? one would hope that 7-figure income and/or 7/8 figure assets would be the minimum entry point... sometimes i get the feeling that i am way too conservative though...

as you know, america is built on CREDIT....

the truly wealthy are smart, they dont pay over, in fact they dont even want to pay msrp. they call PAG and tell them "you are fkg lucky that i drive your car.... be thankful" and dont mess with the rockefellers, kennedys, yasuka, ...

but what do i know. i make 5 figures but i dream big

I am conservative too. At any given time I may have 1 to 2 percent of my total worth in car inventory. But there are many people and I was one of them long ago that would spend every spare dime on a car. I don't look down on this as I was there. I love cars more than I love money. But I love my wife more than I love cars :-) and she doesn't love cars :-)

The first 991 RS to be listed in the Swiss classifieds has an asking price of $420k and a second one with 3k kms is $350k! I doubt those prices will be realised at sale or that the hype will continue into 2016 but at that price I will also be a seller.
