Was just breaking my car in today and after a drive not exceeding 5k rpm the temperature was above half around 103C (half is at 90C)
Is that normal?

would like to add that it is 35C here outside which is about 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

With an ambient temp of 95 degrees F, the coolant temps you are seeing are in the normal range. No worries.

thx.. on another note the car is awesome.. so many mechanical noises its just incredible...

Seriously. What does the gauge say? The thing will probably read about halfway its entire life! It'll warm up as quickly as it can and then maintain halfway. Even on track, I wouldn't expect it to go too much above halfway.
