Default New GMG 991 Aftermarket Seat Mounting Kit

Introducing the new GMG Porsche seat base mounting kit for aftermarket one-piece bucket seat installation.
With limited space in the driver and passenger compartment, fitting aftermarket seats can be a difficult task due to the center console and protruding door panel. The system we have devised and tested supplies ample amount of adjustment so that these clearance issues can be resolved.

Features:

Sub strap mounting bar
In order to have the seat mounted as low as possible, the sub strap mounting bar allows the driver to eliminate eye bolts for sub strap mounting.

One-piece, 3/8 inch steel construction
To strengthen the design, we have eliminated the welding of mounting points and now use a stamped piece of 3/8 steel.

Range of adjustment
Three different widths are provided to accommodate a wide range of aftermarket seats, as well as clearance of the center console and door panel.

Factory Seat Belt Compatible
Added provisions are included to retain the factory seat belt receptacle.

Compatibility:

Sparco: Evo, Evo II, Evo II-US, Pro-ADV, Pro 2000
Sabelt: GT-160 (medium and large)
Recaro: SPG, Pole Position
Seat compatibility list is not limited to only these seats, feel free to call, PM or Email if there is another seat you would compatibility information on.

How much can you compensate for shorter drivers? Say 5'2" ish. How would you solve for have two people a foot apart in height use the same seat?

What are you mostly concerned about? Leg length or the height of the seat? (not being able to see over the steering wheel)

The base kit will definitely have enough movement forward and back for someone 5'2" and 6'2", but if the taller person wants the seat mounted low to head clearance, the shorts drive may have visibility issues. I would set the seat at the middle height on the sidemounts.

Not being able to see over the steering wheel would be the concern in this case. I don't have experience with aftermarket seats such as this to know how easy they are to adjust for such things. The LWB's at least have the height adjustment function. I like my seating position very low, she like to be quite a bit higher.

Unfortunately to adjust height you would have to remove the seat. Maybe you two can compromise on the height and find a happy medium

Would it fit the std LWB seat?

It would be good to be able to get different adjustments on it.

no, the factory LWB has its own system. It also has motors that electronically adjust height

When using a aftermarket seat and bracket are there any issues with all the wiring being disconnected, alarms or other?

As long as you don't turn the key on there shouldn't be any issues. I've done it several times without issue.

Alan, that's assuming the aftermarket seat has a wiring harness that can be plugged in. I kind of doubt that's the case

You need to remove the occupancy sensor and move it into the new seat, along with a box thats attached to the bottom of the seat. Then you need to add some resistors to look like airbags.

My fault for misreading the post. Only applies to a stock seat. Aftermarket and you get a code.
