One important improvement of the RS over the GT3 appears to be the steering feel. If I can improve that in the GT3 by getting some rubber out, I'll likely do it.
Smaller steering wheel also has some appeal, but the steering is already on the heavy side in the GT3, apparently more so after adding a bit of camber.
I'm on the fence about whether I'm repulsed by the appearance of the RS vs it starting to grow on me. When I've doubted Porsche in the past, I usually came around and wound up agreeing with them ... But I still think the color choices are pretty weak, as they were for the GT3; BMW seems better in that regard.
I have some doubt that the RS will be significantly harder to drive on track than the GT3, and I've found the GT3 to be fairly intuitive and confidence inspiring after getting used to it. Very much the 911 feel, but with excellent turn in, handling, and balance. What more could you ask for? And I agree that there likely won't be much extra learning curve due to the RS aero. I think journalists struggled with the RS at BB mainly because of the track, particularly the superposition of crests with curves (elevation change by itself isn't that big a deal). Outcome likely would have been similar with the GT3, maybe even the GT4.
While we can always find things to fault with any Porsche, overall the RS is looking like another home run from AP's team.

I completely agree. I got to know Jethro a few months ago and I agree he is the best at Evo, if not all car magazines. Hope he gets to do the full review.

I agree with you that the GT3 looks better then GT3RS - in fact it looks terrific, a very good looking car.
But I think as the GT3RS grows on us it will make the GT3 look tame and maybe dated.
It's like putting a 458 Speciale next to a regular 458. A great looking car, the 458 suddenly looks old.
Not a reason to buy a RS, just a theory.

The RS is over the top, just like the Speciale. Trying too hard, like a Lamborghini.
I own a 991 GT3 and plan to own a 458 someday. They are both classically beautiful and powerful looking at the same time.
Don't care or plan to ever buy an RS or Speciale.

I think we have had enough of reviews telling us how great and impressive the RS is..
Repetitions of the specs that we already know by heart.
Some we even know more about than the journalists themselves..
We want LAP TIMES!
